My stock Dunlop D401T's on my Heritage 107's best days were behind them, so I was going to order Dunlop American Elite 2's, but my tire guy said they're not available. He said Dunlop closed their USA plant.
So I ordered Michelin Commander 2's, and am waiting for their arrival and installation.
Guess I could've went with Metzeler Cruisetec too.
What about you guys?

Yes, you could have went with Metzeler. I did. Then, theres Avon, Shinko, Bridgestone, Continental, Pirelli, etc. Lots of choices. Some are better than others.

Thanks for the insight, Tex. I've had Metzelers before, on other bikes, and they are great. I thought I'd give Michelins a try this time.

I have used the Dunlop American Elites with great results.
I have also used Dunlop Elite 4s with great results.
I just got a rear tire replaced with a Dunlop Elite 4 since the American Elites were no longer available.
I am a Shinko lover.
But they are more expensive, not for everyone.
The tires themselves are less than half the price of others, a quarter of some but last less than a quarter the time.
And when you consider installation at a much more frequent rate they're very expensive.
Very soft and grippy, no groove tracking.
Have them on my Honda and my Electra Glide.
Good call on the Michelin Commander 2s solid tire with great grip and longevity. Metzeler Cruisetecs are a good option too, especially if you wanted something sportier. Sucks about Dunlop shutting down U.S. production, but the Michelins should treat you well. Let us know how they feel once mounted.
