Default Fork Seal

Had a mishap riding this weekend came over a small hill and hit a large hole in the road . Not your everyday pothole really big and deep also . Actually 3 of us where riding and we all three hit it . On my bike it blew the right fork seal one other bike popped the front tire and the third one bent the handlebars back almost to the tank . My question is since this was a road hazard would insurance cover it ? I called my agent today but he was off till Thursday and his secretary wasn't sure .

You should probably sue their *** !

("their" = county, city, etc, who ever is responsible for the roads)

Keep in mind the deductible.
Using insurance for a $700 claim when you have a $500 deductible is sometimes self defeating since rates may rise and record exist for years.

Damn Oklahoma roads are terrible some good riding over there I'm from Arkansas but you never know what's over the next hill. You might be riding down a decent road and all of a sudden it turn into dirt .

Well local Indy said he would do it for $300 and he's well respected. My friend who popped the tire also bent his rim so he's going to be out more money . He might make a claim on his .

I know here in NY if there was an actual issue with the road (major pot hole, etc), that you would submit a claim directly with the city/town etc.

You should use whatever estimate and or repair order the shop would give you and hopefully you have pictures of the damage and the pothole itself.

This would avoid an insurance claim and you would be compensated directly through them.

Obviously look into this with the town but I've had luck going this route before.

We weren't in a town out in the middle of nowhere by a lake . To add insult to injury my saddlebag lid came open and my regular glasses that where in the saddlebags flew out and I didn't realize it until hours later so that's another $400 .
