Default M8 Softail rear Axle Adjusting Screws

M8 Softail rear Axle Adjusting Screws, No. 10 Below, Part No. 10200515 SCREW, adjusting, rear axle SCREW 3/8-16 X 1/2, 12 point (Grade 8) (alloy steel)

Now Diamond Engineering have stopped trading, has anyone used an ARP Stainless Steel 12 Point Screw as a replacement to the stock adjusters listed above and does anyone know if there is anything different regards the OEM part and an ARP Screw, such as end of the screw shape, hardened etc.!

I know you can get chrome replacements but would rather use an ARP!

Can't imagine why it would be different. Why do you need to change?

There is the janky axle alignment tool... I don't use it. To make sure my axle is straight, I just use a stack of feeler gages between the flat of the frame, and the the bottom of the cap screw. Like mine is the whole stack to 0.15 + a 0.008. But I have mic'ed my screws and they are same as the overall length and same cap to end of by length... So I figure that's good enough.

I would say just get them and find out. Mic them to see if they are 1:1 equal and run them.

They look dull and out place next to the 'shiny' other ARP ones fitted!
I also believe the length listed in the Parts Catalogue is incorrect as it's is way more than 1/2 inch, more like 1 & 1/2 length, but also the head has a narrow flange compared to stock ARP, I was just wondering if there was a specialist bolt kit such as fitted to a manifold, nearer the OEM style!

I asked Bamco Motorsports about these a couple years ago and they told me if I got them the size that they'd source one in whatever color I needed. I spaced doing it so never followed up lol. My bikes covered in chrome ARP 12pt's so need these ones as well.

Yes I have. Can't remember exactly where I got them but the problem was finding one that were threaded all the way in the length I wanted. I don't think I found long enough ones to turn the ends down so I made little buttons with a shaft sticking out and drilled the end of the bolts and silver soldered them in.

Pulled it out and took some better pictures. 3/8-16 x 1 1/4". Turned the head down too.

Gomer, thanks for taking the trouble.
When I checked the ARP catalogue, the 1 & 1/2 length were not fully threaded and even with the 7/16" spanner size the outer flange was much wider than the OEM.
Just for reference the ARP threads are rolled not cut .

ARP 613-1500

Yeah, looks like any length over 1.25 will only have threads for 1.1". Interesting that
the 1.25" length is the last fully threaded, ie) 1.25"

Talked to Bamco Motorsports Saturday and they're having these kits made now, should be ready mid April. I'm far too lazy to do this much work for bolts anymore lol. I'm happy spending a few $ to get em sent to me
