Its kind of impressive how shitty people are to total strangers for no reason
I surprised myself, I think I might have actually grown up... Only took 60 years but I might finally be there. Probably 10 or so years ago, I would have blown up. This time I gave the guy a chance. I simply asked 'how's that'. He gave a nonsensical physics defying response... Blocked, move on... but yes, why do people get joy out of being a douche bag ... I'll never understand...

Im only partially grown up. My initial responses were not terribly mature, but then I thought about it and deleted them and just let it go. I'm 61 and have a little growing up yet to do

Progress, not perfection
I try to keep this line bouncing in my head 'Never argue with stupid people, they will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience' It's too true.
I just bought a 2022 Fat Bob. Love it, but I'm a little concerned too about the range, coming from a 5-gallon Heritage tank. Just filled it up for the first time, and noticed the "range" setting said 205 miles. I must have a special Fat Bob or maybe mine gets 67 miles a gallon!
Yeah, I couldn't live with a 3-gallon tank if it was my only bike. Other than that, the mileage on these bikes is magic -- it's almost like the engine doesn't matter. I have a 2006 Springer Softail with a stock twin cam 88, a 2023 LRS with a cammed 131, and a 2022 1250 Sportster S, and they all clock in at the low 40ish MPG. The Sportster might average 2-3 MPG more, but I was especially surprised when I put the 131 into the LRS, and it made no difference in mileage. Zero, zip, nada. (And I check my mileage frequently; no real reason for it, except that I am curious and any big change is advanced notice of a problem.) So, as far as I can tell, if you own a Harley, you are going to average 42-45 mpg, depending on how hard you push it.
Not sure I understood the hate. Even knowing the mpg was somehow violating a secret riding rule and pissed em off.
One dude said I was a "woke boy" and needed a tampon because I used the same pump for both fills testing my mpg.
Just some sad a-holes half in the bag on a Saturday night trying to stir the pot. You cant argue with that kind of nonsense, so i just deleted that thread.
I'm not hurting for money either, but the cost of gas right now gives me even more excuse to take the bike instead of the truck
Sounds like they're snitching on themselves - weekend riders. Anyone that rides distance appreciates the ability to put down 200-250 miles between stops if you need. Stopping every 150 or fewer miles means that you'll be tacking a lot of extra time onto a stretch.

Yep you're last line says it all, are you crossing SD on the super slab doing 80 plus into a headwind? Or 65 on a state 2 laner.
Elevation and humidity has a large effect on fuel mileage.
Come to south Louisiana in the middle of summer and get disappointed with those high MPG bikes.
