Default Radiator Drain Plug/Tire pressures

Im usually in the Road King section, but tonight Im asking for my ridding partner "Mike The Plumber"he has an 05 V Rod and he wants to drain the radiator to put in some new coolant, where is the drain plug, and what fluid should he use for this extreme heat, and should he change it in the winter? He currentlyhas 3700 miles on it, Hold on please mind as well push my luck with another question!! What's the reccomended tire pressures, he has stock rubber.I swear I looked on his front toire, I can't find it and he seaid it's not in the owners manual!!
thanks Bill

Default RE: Radiator Drain Plug/Tire pressures

The drain plug is located on the left (shifter) side of the radiator assembly. He will need to remove the painted shroud on the side of the radiator assembly to be able to access the plug. There is a 6mm button head socket cap screw (4 mm Allen wrench)on the bottomof the shroud that hold it in place. Remove the bolt and carefully pull down and out away from the bike on the bottom of the shroud. There is a tab on the top that holds the top of the shroud in place, once the bottom is clear the shroud can be pushed vertically up to disengage the tab. He should make sure he uses coolant recommended for aluminum components. Recommendations are to change the coolant every 30,000 miles, he might be a little early with 3700. I wouldn't bother changing it for winter, just make sure the freeze point is lower than the sustained temperatures for your area.

Tire pressure recommendations are: 36 front, 38 rear solo; 36 front, 40 rear with passenger. This is for stock tires only.
