Side rant-- I like Ryan, but he's one of those people who pronounce it "Harley Davison" and that really grinds my gears. The D is not silent and not optional.
I enjoy watching once a year documentary he puts out on YouTube.
Never had issues with lithium batteries on my motos. He must have alot of farkles overloading the bike or enough to cause it to draw power while the bike sits at home. You can believe or not believe, but Lithium is the better than those heavy AGM's. As I say this, I'm gonna jinx myself somehow.

You shouldn't have any issues with lithium batteries on a '23 or older M8 bike, but the new design touring bikes are known to have issues due to the nature of the electronics. Same with the RevMax bikes. They also recommend the 5A charger/tender.

when you listen to the Masses sometimes the “M” is silent.
I can’t watch his videos… he doesn’t get to the point and he usually says things that are incredibly obvious so after watching it feels like he used a lot of words to say the sky is blue. He also comes accross not mechanically inclined… like at all. He makes assumptions based on his personal experience that is full of variables and frankly misapplied solutions.

Kinda like all the people that call Wood cams "Woods" cams? The man's name is Bobby Wood. Lol
For what it’s worth I waisted a lot of money on lithium type batteries. I learned the safe ones are meant only for stock motors, and that makes littles sense. You’re drawn to these powerful batteries when you have a big step motor that’s hard turnover. And it has all this cranking numbers that are advertise like it’s really powerful. But what they don’t tell you was the stupid protection circuit can’t handle a big motor and they eventually leave you stranded. So there really only good for a stock low compression motor. If you have a big motor with high compression, they want you to buy the type of battery that does not have the protection circuit so then you’re left with wondering if your bicycle because in flames.

I could not find an AGM battery that would turn over my 127. So I am using a lithium iron battery. And it does not have a protection circuit. I’m running a bypass on the positive terminal on the battery when it’s parked. It’s inconvenient and stupid, but I don’t have another solution.
