I have a 2024 Ultra Classic Limited and my gas cap button sticks. It takes several pushes to open so I can remove the gas cap filler plug. Oh me oh my.

bend the tab / hinge to give it more tension and it'll pop right up

Unrelated to this section of the forum. We are discussing center-cooled models only: RG/SG/SGU.

I was holding out, hoping they would introduce a new Ultra Limited, but late June I walked into a dealer and traded my 2014 UL for a 2025 SGU. First and likely the only new bike I will ever buy. (bike #8, Harley #6) They sold me the bike for $30,000, but gave me about $1,000 less for my bike than I wanted. Whiskey Fire/Black w/chrome. The handling, ride, brakes, torque are much improved. Other stuff I like: tech features, hill hold, storage in the fairing/lowers. Haven't tried Apple Carplay but I think I'll like it. What I miss: passing/fog lights, tour pack lights and speakers, painted inner fairing, larger front fender. (I'll remedy most of that) Stuff I don't like: digital dash, infotainment etc buttons are on wrong sides, license plate holder. (ugh) Jury is still out on the windshield styling, but it's hard to clean under it. I plan to get a bit taller shield. Can't figure out how to show map with North always up. I also don't like that the bike started puking transmission fluid out the mainshaft seal at about 300 miles. It was fixed under warranty, I've only ridden it home from the dealer since then, 15 miles. Oh, I also like that it has a warranty, never had one of those in 42 years of riding.

I traded my old faithful 2010 Ultra Limited in on a new 2025 SGU and I love it. The handling and performance is next level, the tech is so much more advanced, it's a safer bike as well. I do miss the passing lights on the 2010 and probably the most stark difference is the cost of mods/accessories, it was generally much cheaper to do things to the 2010 vs the new bike. Anything for these new bikes seems to start at $500 and just go up from there. I realize all things are relative and I shouldn't be surprised that modifying a $30k+ motorcycle is an expensive undertaking but man.... Every time I decide to make an addition or a mod the sticker shock is real! lol... I hope this 2nd gen 117 liquid cooled non vvt M8 proves to be at least close to as reliable as the Twin cam 103 was in my 2010.

Default 2025 FLTRX

So far so good. I traded my 2020 Ultra Limited in this year at Sturgis Rally Black Hills HD. It's my second trade in at that dealership. My 2020 was an upgrade from a 2013 Ultra. It felt like a whole new level of HD. My 2025 Fltrx feels like a whole new level above that 2020. I loved the 114cc and this new Gen 3 Road Glide 117cc runs cooler with the liquid cooled heads vs oil cooled heads. My sixth gear feels better below 60 MPH than the 2020. I have 1500 miles on it so far. Black Hills HD offered me 8k more for my trade in than the my local dealership. Prices are high on new bikes all around but I couldn't pass up on this deal.

Came from 2019 SGS. Loved the bike. It was my first HD. Rode it long distances, had it setup how I liked it. I did experience little buffeting which I fought with lower fairings and fangs. Fork fangs helped a lot, but brought the temps up, so I was always worried when riding with them on during hot days. I liked Roadglides, but always felt weird with everything being so far away. Rode my buddy's 24 RG for short time (probably should ride it a little more) and I wasn't too crazy about it. But I still liked how they looked overall.

Then HD made 25 CVO RG in raven fade. I always said that if I was going to buy a CVO, it would have to be perfect and need nothing (except exhaust and windscreen lol). When I saw it first in person, I knew I had to have it. Everything on this bike is perfect in my eyes and I was totally fine with getting over "everything was too far away from me". Made a deal with a local dealer and took one home.

This bike is night and day from the old platform. The immediate feeling was the suspension. I don't think I will ever change it. That thing just soaks up the bumps. In-fact, It's better from my Legends suspension on my old bike. I had the dealer tune it to my weight and it's perfect. I was really surprised how good it is.

The technology on 24+ bikes is nice too. I LOVE the screen. It has everything you need including water temp. Everything is displayed on it in the right spots. Song name on top left, when it connects to BT devices you see a brief notification on top of the screen. At first, the new controls are weird, but once you figure them out, I don't need to touch the screen at all. Also, the buttons work both ways. For example, for horn, you can push the left turn signal "out" without the need to reach to press on the horn spot of the button. Same for the "joystick" thing. You can just use the middle part of it to navigate.

The Stege II sound system also sounds great. I don't think I will ever replace anything there because it just sounds good to me. 121 is peppy and gets up there. Again, don't think I will touch anything there.

Being able to adjust the bars without ripping the whole front end apart is a game changer too. It was difficult for me to find bars for my SG. I wanted something with higher pullback, so the options were limited. I did install FBI bars and they worked, but still, being able to adjust these bars on RG is awesome. Did that at the dealer and I finally feel like I am sitting in the right position. Again, another part I will not be replacing.

One wish. The seat. Common Harley. The seat looks great but gesshhh... my *** gets numb after 20 minutes on it! I wish I could keep it but they don't provide backrest option on 25 CVO with the factory seat. It's a real shame.

You wouldn't pay me enough to go back to SG. But this is not the topic.

I think overall, HD did a great job with this platform. I love it and I can't wait to pile on miles on it!

My lifter failed and got me a complete new engine under warranty, then my ignition could failed and got that replaced under warranty then my fuel pump failed and left me stranded and before they got around to replacing that under warranty I had enough and traded it for a 2025 of the same model. Only about 2000 miles on it and only thing so far was the IFCU black screened on me once and cleared upon next ignition cycle. I love the new CC models performance but I could not in good conscience recommend one until a few more MY maturity. If you want to pile on the miles with best chance of having fewer problems and keep it for many years I would suggest a great deal on a previous generation...my 2020 RGS I bought new and put 75,000 miles on had ZERO issues or problems of any kind. As always, you have to ask yourself one question;

I have 22k on my 24 street glide. My bike has a special ability to fix itself within a few hours. Had issues with the skyline OS radio turning off, fixed itself, then the radio stayed on after the bike was shut off and that fixed itself too, the check engine light came on and then off, dealor couldn’t find any codes at all, tire pressure sensors come on and off all the time, throttle went into limp mode for a few minutes and then fixed itself too. Taking it to the HD shop would be a full time job and honestly they would never be able to replicate it anyway so I don’t bother. I just ride it and enjoy it.

Thankfully I haven’t had any major issues with my 24 RG, just shy of a year and about to hit 15k. A few minor hiccups mostly with the OS system turning off every once in a while then resetting itself, so far 1 recall and 2 rear tires later…. I am pleased to say I am happy with my bike, all though I recently have been made aware of some service bulletins that make me feel a bit uneasy and will be taking a trip down to my local dealer hoping the fellas down there wont give me to much of a hard time correcting the issues that has surfaced.

Owning a bike that seems to have a bad reputation with a lot of people experiencing some major issues is certainly uneasy and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t look at my screen often waiting for a check engine light to come on lol. This is my first touring bike which defiantly has its benefits over the 04 Dyna I started with and my 2020 Lowrider S that is collecting dust and cob webs, I find myself enjoying the RG a lot more than my other bike. The comfort, music, fairing, foot controls, riding position, just to mention a few reasons why I throw a leg over it more than I do my softail.

BUT… there’s no peace of mind when I’m riding lol I ride a lot in very remote areas and it’s only a matter of time until the bike leaves me dead on the side of the road. Would I buy a nothrt newer 24+ touring model? NOPE.. I’d get me a 2020-2022 RG and have that peace of mind that I have a solid bike that wont let me down with all this wiring harness issues, techy sh*t that seems to be a on going headache for majority of owners.

All in all, I am happy with my purchase (so far)

Helo, I have a new 2024 Road Glide with 2650 miles on it. I started having voltage issues at 2300 miles. The dealership has examined the bike thoroughly a few times and have even had HD Corporate tech assistance in diagnosing. Bike will randomly drop off in voltage and shut the skyline OS down followed by a drop in engine power and even killing the engine on a few occassions. I had the dealer have to pick up the bike dead on the side of the road last occurrence. Bike eventually restarted again on its own while at dealership. The bike spits multiple codes but doesn't seem to help with diagnosing where the problem lies. Dealership had it for a week and said they once again cannot duplicate the condition since it is too intermittent. They told me they along with help of HD Corporate checked a few things and bike seems ok. They stated to me a "possible loose wire" was located but couldn't provide me with any specific item causing the fault. I picked up the bike from dealership and will cautiously resume operating it to see what develops cuz I' have no choice. I'm definitely not feeling confident with a bike that has a RDRS technology system on it but yet may be the cause of putting the operator at risk. The bike has a system network of communication that cannot have a glitch in it or it causes your bike to "reboot" while in motion? On a positive note I do love the performance of the machine when purring down the highway or cracking the throttle in sport mode.
