Bike will randomly drop off in voltage and shut the skyline OS down followed by a drop in engine power and even killing the engine on a few occassions. I had the dealer have to pick up the bike dead on the side of the road last occurrence. Bike eventually restarted again on its own while at dealership. The bike spits multiple codes but doesn't seem to help with diagnosing where the problem lies. Dealership had it for a week and said they once again cannot duplicate the condition since it is too intermittent. They told me they along with help of HD Corporate checked a few things and bike seems ok. They stated to me a "possible loose wire" was located but couldn't provide me with any specific item causing the fault. I picked up the bike from dealership and will cautiously resume operating it to see what develops cuz I' have no choice. I'm definitely not feeling confident with a bike that has a RDRS technology system on it but yet may be the cause of putting the operator at risk. The bike has a system network of communication that cannot have a glitch in it or it causes your bike to "reboot" while in motion? On a positive note I do love the performance of the machine when purring down the highway or cracking the throttle in sport mode.
I fought a similar issue on an older fuel injected Lowrider I had, it turned out to be the battery believe it or not, the problem usually happened when I'd hit a decent bump in the road but not always, bike would either stumble and sputter for a minute and recover or it would die, I'd coast to the side of the road, cycle the key a couple times and it would start and run great. I had it in the local HD shop several times trying to get it resolved, finally it died on the tech while he was out test riding it and wouldn't start back up for him, he had to trailer it back to the shop, ended up replacing the battery and I never had the problem again. Previously every wire connection had been checked by me and HD, every other electrical component verified, etc. I am an electrician/industrial maintenance tech so I have a pretty good background for troubleshooting. The HD shop tested the old battery which was the original HD battery and found it had an internal short inside the battery that would cause it to briefly short the electrical system when I'd hit a bump in the road or something, HD shop said they'd never seen that before, just my luck, lol. The bike ran great for years after replacing the battery.

Default Rant on the 2025 Street Glide Ultra

I used to own a 2022 Ultra Limited. On a recent trip I rented a 2025 Street Glide Ultra, thinking it would be a great chance to test it out.

Honestly, I came away really disappointed, and here’s why:
  1. The new radio doesn’t support Android Auto. My 2022 ran it flawlessly.
  2. No more tour pack speakers. the ’22 had them.
  3. The tour pack on the ’22 had an Auxiliary Power Port. Gone on the ’25.
  4. The ’22 also had a wall organizer in the tour pack. The new one? Nope.
  5. And despite all these cutbacks, the 2025 costs more.
Like, what the F#$K Harley? You’re charging us more and giving us less. Who asked for this? Did somebody say, “Give us 3 extra cubic inches, but take away all the useful stuff and jack up the price”?

Yea, I agree with most of what you said. (no experience with Android)
check this thread.

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/2024-...gu-so-far.html

from my post in there. I moved from a 2014 Ultra Limited to 2025 SGU.

The handling, ride, brakes, torque are much improved. Other stuff I like: tech features, hill hold, storage in the fairing/lowers. Haven't tried Apple Carplay but I think I'll like it. What I miss: passing/fog lights, tour pack lights and speakers, painted inner fairing, larger front fender. (I'll remedy most of that) Stuff I don't like: digital dash, infotainment etc buttons are on wrong sides, license plate holder. (ugh) Jury is still out on the windshield styling, but it's hard to clean under it. I plan to get a bit taller shield. Can't figure out how to show map with North always up. I also don't like that the bike started puking transmission fluid out the mainshaft seal at about 300 miles. It was fixed under warranty, I've only ridden it home from the dealer since then, 15 miles. Oh, I also like that it has a warranty, never had one of those in 42 years of riding.

I've already added tour pack and fog lights. And changed out the plate holder. Next will be speaker/amp upgrade and 12V outlet in the tour pack. I may buy the older liner with pouch, it's still available new or maybe score a used on off ebay.

They need to drop the word 'Ultra' from its name..maybe substitute it with the word 'Underwhelming' for the new SGU

Here's what Merriam-Webster Dictionary has to say about it

Ultra
: going beyond others or beyond due limit : EXTREME
: beyond the range or limits of : transcending : SUPER-
: beyond what is ordinary, proper, or moderate : excessively : extremely
ultramodern

Have ridden bikes for over 40 years and always thought that it was about how the bike performed that mattered, along with long term reliability. These days, a lot of folks seem more concerned with entertainment systems and other tech type stuff.

However, if Harley is going to charge top dollar for their bikes, they should include all the features that folks want, and not skip them to make more profit

they still have an ultra limited which seems to be more in line with what you are used to. i think the stuff you are complaining about are because this is one trim level down from the "limited" model and is basically a street glide at heart hence the name. although i know that have not changed the UL from the old fairing yet. let's see what happens for '26

Yeah, some of your concerns are valid.

But when it comes to cost, can you name any vehicle (car, truck, motorcycle, etc), that hasn't increased in price every year.
So, it isn't just a Harley thing.

Are they still building that Ultra Limited? Looking at the HD website, you see it is a 2024 model.
So, does that mean you are at the mercy of what dealers might have in stock? Or can they get more?

And Imagine what a new "real" Ultra or a Limited is going to cost...
It will prob be over 45K which is crazy considering I paid around 28K for my present Ultra which I thought was Highway robbery . Guess no one is forcing me to buy one.

by looking at your signature. It seems that you have a 2017 road glide ultra Limited. $28,000 in 2017 with inflation is equivalent to $36,900 today. so apples to apples you did not pay less for yours. if you compare your purchase at today’s prices with what the new one costs, you actually paid more for an ultra limited than they are charging for the new street glide ultra which is not as decked out as a limited would be

I love mine. I went to Indian for a few years. I said I won't but another Harley until they make a bike that will bring me back. Well, Harley did that with the 2025 Street glide Ultra. It's actually priced right in line with other makes that are similar. As far and Android Auto. That's not a Harley decision. It is a Google decision to not have it available on motorcycles. There are ways around that.
