I do a lot of long distance touring. I've been to 33 states on my Harleys and I've never trailered any of them even once. I've been working a lot over the last couple of years and my 2019 Ultra Limited sat in the garage untouched, so I sold it a few months ago. I am really starting to regret it and now I'm looking at the 2025 Street Glide Ultra. At first I thought they were ugly but I went and checked one out at my local dealership yesterday and they've grown on me.

I'm sure there's a thread already, but I haven't been in the forum much lately so can someone fill me in on their experience with the new bikes so far?

Worth it?

well I am going to be the exception not the rule but my experience with my 24 with almost 28,000 miles on it I have had multiple MAJOR problems and some minor bugs to deal with mostly due to the early adopter IFCU and OS that are not sorted out yet with the 25s. My lifter failed and got me a complete new engine under warranty, then my ignition could failed and got that replaced under warranty then my fuel pump failed and left me stranded and before they got around to replacing that under warranty I had enough and traded it for a 2025 of the same model. Only about 2000 miles on it and only thing so far was the IFCU black screened on me once and cleared upon next ignition cycle. I love the new CC models performance but I could not in good conscience recommend one until a few more MY maturity. If you want to pile on the miles with best chance of having fewer problems and keep it for many years I would suggest a great deal on a previous generation...my 2020 RGS I bought new and put 75,000 miles on had ZERO issues or problems of any kind. As always, you have to ask yourself one question;

2024 Street Glide

50mpg

cruise control, CarPlay or optional HD Nav

Engine zooms like a bat out of hell

Needed a better windshield

No issues on mine

I added a trunk and saddlebag guards from Amazon

No issues with my 24 for about 7k miles (till totaled). My 25 so far had IFCU reset on me, navigation stuck till I I've pulled the main fuse oh and the cases leaked on day one so were replaced under warranty, garage door opener quit on me once. You just never know.

10k miles on an early 2024. Zero issues. I’ve stayed away from any updates.

I really like my 2025 Street Glide Ultra. I have owned several Harley's over the years including CVO Ultra Limited models. I switched to Indian Pursuit because Harley was lagging in technology and updates. I said I would switch bad to Harley when they make I bike that I want. They came out with the new updated Street and Road Glide models but I wanted a factory build "Full Dress" touring bike. When they released the SG Ultra, I know they finally built the bike I wanted and went back to HD. Indian's suspension is still way better but I fixed that with Ohlins front and rear suspension.

You're always going to have some people share bad experiences on all brands and models. You will never visit a forum and find only perfection. People with issues tend to present themselves more than 100% satisfied people. I can say I have 100% gaooy and satisfied with my SG Ultra.

I haven't had mine for very long, around 4,000 miles, but so far, I really like it. It runs, performs, and handles great.

I haven't had any mechanical issues, but I've had a few electronic & software related issues:
  • IFCU software update hung up and disabled wireless CarPlay and Wi-Fi. H-D tech support had to remote into the bike to fix the issue
  • Garage Door Opener module wasn't recognized by the BCM which took two trips to the dealer to resolve
  • Issue with rear brakes grabbing, resolved by ABS module software update
  • Random failures to connect to wireless CarPlay after startup (Not resolved yet)
  • Random IFCU black screen a few minutes after startup (only happened one time)

I really like my new Street Glide. Very nimble and plenty of power. Getting a 12inch Klock Werks windshield to replace the stock one.

Traded my ‘21 Road Glide Special for a ‘25 Road Glide. The ‘25 steering feels lighter and the bike more nimble overall. I just turned 572 miles so I haven’t pushed it yet, but feels like it’ll gooooooo.
