When I built my 121 inch motor I wanted to add an Oil Pressure Gauge.

The kit that HD sells for this has a real nice liquid filled gauge,
and a nice housing, but it is designed to hang off the pipe Side,
sticking way out in the wild blue yonder.

I want the gauge tucked in on the hornSide.

First step, cut off one mounting tab,
so the bolt holes will match up to the other side of Rocker Cover.
.

.
.
I used an old gasket to get the spacing,
and weld the tab back on, about one eighth inch inboard (below).

So, that's easy enough.....
.

.
.
HD supplies a nylon line that is only long enough for mounting on the pipeSide of the motor.

So, for now, I am running copper line to the hornSide location.

First, I built a couple little brackets for Adel Clamps.

Below, I've laid out pattern on a piece of scrap stock,
for two brackets.
.

.
Here below are the two brackets.
They will hang off the lifter housings...........
.

.
On the right (below) the tubing comes up from the oil pressure fitting.
Across and through the Adel Clamps,
then on the left, the tubing heads over to the hornSide of the motor.
.

.
.
Next picture, you can barely see the Adel Clamp on the transmission top cover.

From there the tubing runs up to connect to the gauge........
.

.
.
Last picture shows the gauge tucked in nice and close.

Here is another cheap/free modification. You will need a torch for this to make it easy and get the right bends to the mirror stems.

I have a great field of view from behind now versus having them mounted above the bars, plus it kind of gives the bike a lower/sleeker appearance now.

Mud, about those copper oil lines to the gauge...can you tell me more about the fittings and what kind of line that is? it looks smaller than refrigerator water supply lines.

vet, the copper line is 1/8 inch.

the fittings are really common to any oil pressure gauge install,
whether it be automotive, HD, or otherwise.

Great mod HogRider! I tried using my mirrors wrong way around (on the mini apes) and all I saw was my arms.

After seeing what you've done I may have to pick up another set of mirrors and give this a try. I've been tempted to paint mine black anyways.
Thanks!
