did I read this right? the dealer charged you 2 1/2 hours to install the sideplates - and the backrest is on backorder?

who is this dealer? I want to avoid them!

but it seems to me that if U could mount the docking hardware without doing the relocation of the signals,,,

Then why would U have to relocate them at all?.......

dont relocate the turn signals. you can modify the detachable side plates so it is not required. easy to do and saves money and looks better.
you just remove the hump that serves no purpose other than to make you buy another part.

Because its not the docking hardware that interferes, its the acutal sideplates as others have mentioned. After looking at the stuff on other bikes, I think they tell you to do it in that order because once you get the docking hardware on, it would be more difficult to get the signal relocation stuff on

There really isn't much to cut off is there?

I don't understand why they just cant make them like that.

Definitely cut a little bit off the detachable plate, save the stock turnsignals... and a few bucks. Plus it looks a ton better! Did it on my NT and it looks terrrific. Saw on an even cheaper idea on the Cheap Mods thread where they guy was using regular side plates but I had already picked up my detachables.

I installed the relocation kit on my 2007 fatboy. Doesn't look bad. Most people didn't even notice it.

Thanks for bringing that up.

I'm gonna try this first and if for some reason it doesn't work buy a detachable.
