Well I wasnt looking to do it... but its done lol. Found myself with a buy on these Freedom Performance Amendment pipes 2nd hand:
These pipes seem to me they are modeled after the V&H Big Shots almost exactly... Dunno how the sound compares. I read somewhere that the guys that own Freedom Performance used to work for V&H so I guess that figures.
They are not as loud (with the baffles in) as I was afraid they were gonna be but they definitely make some noise. Have a very nice deep tone... Gonna try to see if I can record a decent sound sample though I doubt any recording will do them justice.
Everything said... I love em. Exactly the sound I was after (even tho by accident lol) and they come on nice and smooth for what seems in my short test rides so far to be a much more rounded curve that I am sure will only get better as a A/C and tuner are added.
As I purchased these 2nd hand I cannot speak for the customer service at Freedom Performance but the product itself is quality.... nice set of pipes. And 100% USA based company. 500$ MSRP for a full exhaust seems a very reasonable price.

Weather was awesome today so I did a bit of joy ridin
And heres a sound sample... Start up and idle. Walk around, a few cranks on the throttle then ride off / Ride past. Sample actually captured the sound pretty well.
My brother in law just-put-these (chrome) on his '12 Fat Bob. They seem to be a high quality pipe. Length come in between the Big Shots and the Short Shots. He's real happy with em. I don't dislike the sound but I not really a fan either.
You stated $500 msrp. Are black one more than chrome because my brother in law only paid $430. Just curious.

Looks good BTW
I actually had just thrown a ballpark number out.... But oddly enough - yes the black is more expensive although you can find all sorts of prices on them if you shop around. I got mind from a member here.
The plan is to grab some Thunder Torque Inserts from DK Customs. Those will change the sound a good bit and should fatten em up off the line a bit.
A Tuner MUST be had first and foremost though. Im really leaning toward a PowerVision from Jamie @ FuelMoto.

Digging that Wally World fork bag on the battery box idea. How did you mount it?
The battery box trim snaps into 4 holes on the battery box cover. Just punch holes in the back of the bag and use some bolts and wide washers (fender washers) to bolt it on. Just grabbed it all from the Wally world hardware section when I purchased the bag.
Can post a pic if u need but its very straight forward. ...
There is alittlebetter bag available on eBay for about the same price.. ill dig up the link
Bike looks good. I am really thinking about getting a fork bag and mounting it on the battery box like yours. Do you have any clearance issues with your legs when you put them down?

I actually went to Wally World this afternoon and bought their last one. Came home, pulled the battery cover and seat off and scratched my head for a few minutes before I gave up and poured a Guinness. It never dawned on me to yank the trim.
I'll be mounting it tomorrow. I like the bag better - for looks and utility - than that bit of chrome. Thanks!
