Nothing new of late but have some things in the works...

Doing alot of 2up'ing lately so I'll be making some changes accordingly. First and foremost I'll be adding a black PC'ed sissy bar. Probably old school bobber style.

Afters the plan as it stands now is I would like to add a Mustang Vintage solo + pillion.. then find a solo luggage rack that I like and have it PC'ed black and either modify the mustang pillion seat pan to fit over the luggage rack or completely remake the pan. This way the pillion seat is quick detach and completely off the fender (yay! no more rubs) making it possible to very quickly strip the bike back to solo very very quickly.

No comments required to this post as I am really sort of logging my thoughts but any input is welcome

At 15K on the OD I had the rear tire changed this weekend. Got only 7000 miles out of the Perelli Night Dragon. .. Back to the stock Dunlop

Also took a stab at tinting my shield this weekend. Didnt come out too bad... gonna end up redoing it as I botched an edge here or there but imma wait and see how well this stuff holds up. Was pretty easy really.. the re curve at the top presented abit of a challenge but I ended up tacking the tint down at the top with some painters tape and then squeegee it off and let it cure. Then trimmed the edges.

Went with 20% limo black (Brand name GAIA) and it looks OK. Has a sort of purple-ish hue that bothers me abit so I might lighten up the color next time or perhaps find a better brand of tint.

Thanks to 07bobber and Powder Pro Joe for talking me into it

Excuse the crappy pic.. what you guys think?

You'll need 4 bolts, 4 fender washers, and 4 nuts. size isnt of big importance as long as they fit through the holes. Washer go on the inside of the bag so the nuts dont get pulled through the leather. I get this question alot - dont over think it... u simply need something to attach the bag to the cover. Tie straps would probably even work.

As far as how the bag has held up. Id say "decent." It has a layer of plastic sandwiched between 2 layers of leather.... this on one hand has helped the bag hold its overall shape. On the other hand.. the plastic in the lid has begun to wrinkle and distort in the heat of the summer sun.

This bag came from wally world too... I think there are better bags to be had IMO

Had some damage to my rear fender from throw over bags... Even rubbed through the packing tape... ah well ..

So to hide the damage to the fender I decided to give the whole bike a satin finish. Easy enough to do... Little rubbing with some super fine steel wool and a nice coat of wax to protect it. ...

It does help hide the damage nicely and Im really liking the look. Left the console gloss for contrast but I may end up giving it a rub down too. Got alittle more work to do evening it all out as well...

Well things have been rather chaotic for me lately giving me little time for projects and forum time but here is an update..

So it all started with what I thought was a leaking O2 sensor. ... Me and a friend pulled the header to tighten the sensor back down and low and behold there is a pencil sized hole near the O2 bung on the rear header. .. :/ No worries - we took it to a local friends shop and had him patch up the hole.

While tightening down the same O2 sensor during reassembly the entire bung ripped right off the pipe.

As dumb luck would have it... my friend had a set of Vance and Hines Big Shots in his garage that fit an unknown bike. .. we decided it was worth a shot.

These pipes sound great! and fit very very near perfect! With the exception of the heat shield is in the way of the oil filler cap (will trim it, no big deal) and there is no O2 Bungs :/ Removed my O2's for better or worse and placed a 1meg resistor in each plug. No codes and runs great! Although its still too early to comment on mileage.

Before adding the resistor I took a quick test ride and it did seem pretty rich. The resistor (or read "O2 Eliminator") leaned that out abit to where I think it should be. Can anyone comment on what different resistor values would produce? From this short experience it seems alittle less should richen and alittle more should lean out... within the programmed specs of the ECM ofc..
