After reading the reviews here on the forums, I am considering installing the shotgun shock on my 2010 FatBoy Lo. I have a lift table' but for those who have installed what did you use to lift the bike so you could work under the frame ? Most of the jacks I have seen go right under the frame right where the shotgun shock is installed or am I mistaken ?
Pics of where you installed the control switches would be nice also.
I used a lift I bought from Harbor Freight. It wasn't a stand but two "forks" to lift the bike. Just had to get it in the right position in order to clear the shocks. I also used a small automotive jack under the rear tire to be able to move the suspension. Fairly easy install, just a tight spot.

Pretty much the same for me as above post. I moved my jack (J&S Jack) a little more forward than I normally do, but it worked out just fine. I mounted my switches using the horn bolt just above the horn "cowbell". Great shock by the way. You will not be disappointed.
I haven't installed a Shotgun shock but I have used my HF High Lift jack to remove my stock shocks and install lowering bolts. The arms fit behind and in front of the shocks and will lift the bike plenty high to perform any work you may need to do. http://www.harborfreight.com/high-po...ift-99887.html
We used a full size bike lift so it made life very easy!! Switches are mounted behind cowbell where the brackets designed to go. May end up in dash panel this winter who knows. You'll love em! Call JD and order em now! LoL
The isntall is very easy. I have the smae lift as in the above pictures. Simple to postion it coreectly and teh isntall takes about an hour to two if you are a beginner.
