Functionally, there is no significant difference between it and the HD module.
Early on, they both had issues with the iPod connecter on the cable
We have since changed cable manufactures, and our cable issues are now very rare.
The biggest performance difference is the audio level output.
There have been many reports of the Harley module playing at a lower volume level than the rest of the radios audio sources. The HDPDPLUS specifically addressed that issue so the module will play at the same audio level as the rest of the audio sources.
The pass-through harness used on the HDPDPLUS means that it's an easy install in any system configuration with no re-pinning or additional connectors needed.

How long has the HDPDPLUS3 been out? I have one of you iPod adaptors but not sure which generation it is. Occasionally the plug on mine comes loose. I've started putting a rubber band around it to keep it from rattling loose. Also, any difference in output level between the various generations you guys have offered?

What plug is coming loose?
The plug that goes into the ipod. I bought the extension and have it routed to my tourpak. I put the ipod in a koozie to protect it a little. It does not come loose all the time but once in a while it works back out and I just pull over and push it back in. I found though that one of my wife's hair ties lengthwise around the ipod holds the plug in pretty well.

If it's still under warranty, give us a call.
We'll get you a new cable.
Sounds like the locking tabs have an issue
