+1 Totally agree. You could go with $700.00 focal speakers and not notice much of a difference without an amp. Amp is a must have for an upgrade on a motorcycle.
if you're looking to only upgrade the speakers with no amp, then I would suggest sticking with a 2 ohm speaker, and specifically my recommendation would be the Infinity Kapp 62.11i. Once you get your pods out, take them apart and mount the speakers on the inside. If you don't want to take the pods apart, then most any aftermarket speaker is going to require the replacement of the stock grills with the upgraded boom audio grills. Geez I hate using the word upgrade in the same sentence with boom audio!
