Ok, after reading a bit more of the 2014 sticky... I have this question...

What is better with the biketronics setup... Getting the flash done or adding the 'magic box'... What are people's experiences with both?

Thanks!

I'm in between this setup and a level 4 kit with the focal speakers from Soundz customz myself. Can't decide, gonna do the speakers in March most likely.

I've not had the opportunity to install a system on a 14 yet but NUTZ always recommended getting the 8 speaker flash vs. the magic box. Very respected and trusted individual in regard to audio on a bike. (and also a good friend)

My suggestion would be to talk to your dealer. See if they have flashed any bikes yet. Do they know what they are doing with the digi-tech. Will they allow you to come into the shop and see and hear what's going on. Will they be patient with you and allow you to try a couple different flashes to see what's best. Everyone says to do the 8 speaker no amp flash, but see if they will experiment a bit. Finally, what is the cost.

If they don't seem like they will work with you, either go else where, or run the magic box.

FYI... I am using the magic box. Sounds fine to me, but I am very curious as to what it would sound like with the flash as maybe I am missing out on some sound quality...

Thanks Gannicus! I read a lot of input from Nutz... It's a shame he's gone now... He is incredibly knowledgable... I've just got to hope that my dealers maintenance department knows what their doing with the flash!

Ok, so I've got the speakers and amp all installed... Just about to run the power under the tank. I have a question...

Should I loctite all of the speaker and bracket screws? I didn't think about it when doing the RH side. Then, I put loctite on all of the LH screws... They just seem to be really short, but they seem pretty snug as well... I would just hate to have any come loose down the road.

Has anybody had any issues with BT brackets and hardware coming loose?

If it's a regular threaded bolt or machine screw, it gets blue loctite on my machine. Sheet metal screw or anything going into plastick then no.

All the BT kits are solid kits and I can't recall any hardware ever coming loose but as dirtracin said blue Loctite is always good for machine screws and threaded bolts. Nothing wrong with a little extra insurance!

Ok, cool. Thank you guys! I'll go back and redo the RH speaker and bracket.

And one more loctite question... I know it should be above 50*F to install the loctite, but I don't have heat in my work area and it's generally in the 30-40's when I'm working in there... Is it still going to cure, just take longer than the normal 24 hours?

Sorry, I know that's not really an "audio" question... Just making sure my logic makes sense! And yes, I know true logic says I should get a heater in my work space!
