I'm sure you could but why would you want to?

The PBR300X2 has a signal sensing feature. As soon as it senses a signal from your HU it will automatically turn on the amp. Usually the signal has to be 3.5 to 4V for this feature to activate. I have installed this amp with the stock HU and the signal from the HU was not strong enough to turn the amp on and ended up using the accessory switch to power the amp. But this is the exception not the rule. The amp should turn on automatically.

I was just thinking I could turn it on and off just I case it started to get hot or something. I know it doesn't make sense to use the aux switch because I can use it for something else. Just read that this amp gets very hot up in the wing and was trying to prevent problems down the road.

Not sure where you are getting your Info from. But the PBR300X2 doesn't run hot at all. Warm to the touch maybe. But not Hot. Now a few years back the PBR300X4 ran pretty hot. But Fosgate has fixed that issue with the newer amps, The X2 is a great amp for a motorcycle!

I was just reading some feedback on amazon that they ran hot. But like you say, that could have been prior to the fix you had mentioned. So with all that said, you think it will work well with the infinity speakers am getting. The ohms will match up with amp properly?

Thanks for the insight on this topic, much appreciated

Yes! The PBR300X2 is a PERFECT amp for the Infinity 62.11i speakers. The X2 is 2 or 4 ohm compatible. Meaning it can run 2 or 4 ohm speakers.

It also produces 150 watts of power at 2 ohms which is perfect for the Infinity's. Trust me. This combination sounds pretty dam good! LOL

But if you ever decided to upgrade speakers. ie., BT7.1's the Cerwin Vega will push the 4 ohm speakers just as hard. and the other two amps will not. All three are good choices!
Gannicus, thanks for the response, I actually read the B2 specs wrong originally, now it all makes since. Thanks a lot for your input.
Ride safe.
