+1 This was my take on them as well. Thought they were too bright with it on. Sound is subjective though. Try it both ways but make sure you have them set where you want them before you button it up. Ask me how I know why that's important.

Yes there's a small 3db button on the tweeters. Gives you a little more highs from your tweeters.

Okay, just got the 62.11i speakers and adapter rings on order. Should all be here in about a week. Now is one of the few times I wish for a rainy weekend. It makes it all easier to take the bike apart when it's too nasty to ride.

Thanks again for everybody's help, I sure appreciate it.

I just realized something. The speakers I'm replacing came with the tweeters mounted in the face screen, or whatever you call it. It's the J&M setup for the RGC. Is this going to be an issue in any way? My gut tells me it would be a bad idea to try and hook them up to the new speakers, though I have no other scientific principle to back it up than that would be too much tweeter. The face screens prior to this look a little rough so I'd hate to put those back on. Can I still use the face screen with un-hooked tweeters without any ill effect?

Yep! I did the same thing when I upgraded from the Booms which have basically the same tweeter configuration. Just leave that tweeter disconnected, coil up the wires for it, and throw a small zip tie on it. No fuss and no ill effects.
