Bike 2013 Street Glide
Speaker and amp upgrade (want to maintain FM if at all possible)
BT 7.1's if at all possible
AMP - ???
$400-$500 budget
Want to install BT 7.1 in fairing and was going to go with PBR300X2 BUT after doing a lot of reading I figure they don't fit well as they are only rated at 100w RMS (4 ohm) and the BT's are rated at 120w RMS.
So I haven't seen any amp's (Sony PN4.520, Cerwin Vega B2, RZ4-2000D) that will get me the FM (hit or miss) and the power. Is this a sacrifice (FM loss) to push the 7.1's to their potential that I need to live with?

Thanks for any feed back.

Yes Sir. The only amp that fits your budget while keeping FM is the PBR300X2. Personally I would sacrifice FM in a heartbeat to hear the 7.1's powered by the RZ4 or the Cerwin Vega B2. The next step up from the X2 is going to be the BT2180.
Steve, still using the stock HK HU? Thats the missing link for a great FM signal, for my case coming from a dinosaurASS radio sound HU to a HI-tech AlpineHU with HD radio is awsome with no issue in reception. Plus living near the capital (H-burg) Baltimore, and some Cap stations too. Depend on the signal of course. What G-man said, cant go wrong with any of those amp, I had the 2180, so much power you smile everytime you turn it on. Made my fellow riders grin everytime. Great amp for a MC. Good luck and happy tunes. Best, D

sorry, yes I am still using stock HU...so if I replace the HU I would improve my chance of FM reception?

Yeah, the BT2180...wished I could fit that in my budget after all the reading I have done about it.
You can call Bill at BT and tell him you want the BT2180 amp and the BT7P1 speakers and tell him you are a forum member and see what kind of deal he can work out, or just wait for his spring sale coming up.
You might have to go up to a $600.00 budget but do it right the first time and then you will be all set, and you won't have to do it over again later.

Thanks for the responses Alucard19, I hadn't heard about the spring sale...I know I missed a opportunity last month with is group buy.
I started another thread (https://www.hdforums.com/forum/audio...for-input.html) a few days ago...my budget did increase some but was leaning towards putting in a new HU. Have read quite a few threads where once you have the BT7.1's and a good amp you can really notice the short comings of the stock HU at higher volumes.
I talked to Bill at BT last week and he stated that he would be having a spring sale within the next 3-5 weeks and that the prices would be between 15% and 25% off, plus he said that if someone wanted something before the sale to call and ask for him and let him know that you are a forum member and he would see what kind of deal he could work out.
So a phone call is an easy way to see what you can get and still stay within budget.
Bill at BT is a stand up guy and will work with you and not try to sell you something that you don't need.
Did I mention Lifetime warranty, and made in the USA. hard to beat those 2 things.
