I'm sure you guys get this all the time from "newbies" but holy cow there's a ton of info here. I've been looking (and searching) all of your posts (espc UN's since he has the same bike) for the past week and I still have NO clue what to do. I have a 2012 FLHTK and it's time to upgrade speakers and get an amp. I plan to keep the stock head unit. I'm looking for an amp which will fit in the batwing. I'd like to keep FM reception if possible. I've looked at the reviews for J&M, Hog Tunes, RF etc. I just want a decent set up which I won't have to upgrade in a year. Might as well do it right the first time. I don't plan to do the installation myself as I have ZERO mechanical and espc electrical ability so my local shop will do it for me.
Budget is open...I'm "ok" with dropping 1000$ albeit not ideal.

Went with the BT4180 and the 7.1's. Was thinking about doing the lowers or rear pods but after talking to Bill he said go with this set up first and see what I thought prior to spending more $. Thanks again guys for the advice. I'll let ya know how it works out.
