For the rear speakers, open up the wiring harness coming out of the radio.
Find the 4 blue wires for the rear speakers. There set of rear speaker wires will be twisted together.

Code:
Pin Color Speaker
K1 LBE RR +
K2 LBE/BK RR -
J1 LBE/O LR +
H1 LBE/GY LR -
Cut these wires. I twisted and soldered a 1' peace of 16g wire to each rear speaker wire, 8 in all. Shrink wrap them. This will leave more then enough wire to tie into the AMP.
The wires coming from the radio will get soldered to and shrink wrapped to the other high input plug wires that came with the amp.
The wires going to the speakers will get screwed to the output side of the amp. I put colored shrink wrap in each set of these wires and labeled them. See Pic 4.

For the REM In on the amp I used some 16g wire and red disconnects and hooked into the acc/cigarette plug in the fairing.
1. Remove the gray plug to acc/cigarette lighter.
2. Make a wire with a female disconnect on one end, and male disconnect on the other end. This will be your ground connect to black wire on the gray plug then back to the acc plug.
3. The power wire is going to be a Y. Solder two wires to one wire and shrink wrap it. The one single end will get plugged into the gray plug to the + purple wire. The other end of this wire will have two ends. One will get a red female disconnect that goes to the acc plug on the fairing. The other end will get tinned and will go to the REM In on the amp.

If this is confusing, just ask.

if you don't want to go the route bertk did you can order everything you need from vtwinaudio. It will have all the connectors to plug and play. It was only I think 40 bucks.

Thank you Bertk! I'll take a look at my wiring this weekend and see if this makes sense to me. Your linky does not seem to be working... did that go to another location?

I spoke with V-Twin today looking for my order and while I was on the phone I inquired about their connectors. It came to around $90 for the speakers. What I don't understand, how does their connectors work? Do they plug into the harness that comes out of the HU to run to the AMP?

Ok the vtwin wiring will plug right into the factory plugs to act like a bypass inside the speaker pods if you use speakers that have spade terminals like most speakers do then they will pretty much just plug into the new speaker. The kappas if that is what you are going to use have screw terminals so what I did was soldered a short piece of wire to the existing leads then heat shrunk it all. For the screw terminals I solderd the wire ends then tightened them into the speaker terminals. Sorry to get off point a little bit but to get back to the other ends of the vtwinaudio wiring one is a standard speaker wire (looks like lamp cord) and the other is purple set and a green set. So then you solder one the pair from the factory radio side to your high input side of your amp and the generic speaker wire to the output of the amp. It is really simple to do. This way if you want to take it all out you just plug the speakers back into the stereo side of the harness. If you use the soundstream amp I would solder some fishing leader stainless steel crimp furrels to the wire. I found the even with the ends of the 18 guage wire soldered or not got cut when tightening the set screws. The fosgate you can jut the wires to length and solder it together. Don't get me wrong you can use crimp connectors instead. I'm just a solder and heat shrink person. As soon as I figure out how to do pics I will post what I have, I always think of pics after its almost done lol

I had it on tonight and holy crap batman, what a difference in clarity and volume even without having the flash yet. Once I get the flash I will redo my gains.

Try the link again before it gets mangled.

Thanks for all the information! I did go with the Soundstream and the Kappa's. Waiting on grills and rings for the rear pods from V-Twin. So it seems like there is still cutting and soldering involved even with the V-Twin harnesses which is okay by me as I prefer the soldering and and heatshrink method of connections as well. But I'm thinking I'll save the $100+ on the harnesses and just do the more permanent connections unless I'm missing something.

Yeah between the front and rear harness there is 100 buck plus in harnesses there. I went that we because I didn't want to here my dealer bitch and moun and tell me later when I have an electrical issue I have no warranty. It was a little bit of a pain stripping the bike down to run them as well, along with the lid speaker harness. If your using an under faring antenna you can steal your remote trigger for your amp from there as well. As for as mangled nothing got mangled on mine, just a matter of taking a little extra time since its minus 8 here I took almost a week lol

What I did to connect the rear speaker was to use a short peace of 16g wire with a red disconnect on one end that connects to the speaker harness plug and tin the other end that goes to the speaker. Then shrink the quick disconnect. This way you will always have the stock connections if needed.

Here's where I got a lot of help.

2015 Touring speaker wiring colors coming from the radio.

Code:
Pin Color Speaker
M1 PK RF +
M2 PK/BK RF -
L2 PK/O LF +
L1 PK/GY LF -

K1 LBE RR +
K2 LBE/BK RR -
J1 LBE/O LR +
H1 LBE/GY LR -
On the front I used red male disconnects. There are two different sizes, if you cannot find the smaller size the larger ones can be cut or filed down to fit. Crimp them on to the high input plug wires that came with the amp. The disconnects get plugged into the existing female speaker wire plugs that go to the speakers, see pic 1. No cutting of wires for the front. Then run 2' of 16g wire from the speakers to the amp output. Shrink wrap the these wires from the speaker to the outside of the pods. You can use grommets or the holes in the pods. I didn't have grommets so I used 3/8" split loom tubing over the speaker wires and slid it into the hole in the pods a little ways. Tin the ends of these wires before putting them into the screw downs on the amp and speakers if the speakers have screw downs like mine.

Very clean and it looks right.....Well done sir
