Is it possible with a Sony Cdx-20 and the aswc kit to make the right side thumb control, control the volume. It is a 2011 cop bike and already has the radio installed and is working great, but the thumb controller is not hooked to anything yet that I know of. When you hit the thumb control up or down ( not sure what way) a P lights on the dash. Bike only has a right side controller, I think because it's a cop bike. Any input would be greatly appreciated before I tear into it. The aswc kit is still in an unopened box. Friend will be happy if it simply controls the volume.

You gotta see where the wires for that thumb switch lead to. I gotta remember where I saw it, but there's a color diagram for each action - for example yellow/black wire = volume up an is in slot 22. You need to get those wires in that position and the ASWC should in theory read that as volume. I also think you can program the ASWC as AAWAV's sticky shows how to program mute.
I don't think this is mission impossible with some clever wiring.
Is it an up and down thumb switch or a two position slider switch? The pursuit mode is activated by a two position slider that clicks to the left. The first indent to the left turns on the rear emergency lights and the second indent to the left turns on all the emergency lights. Normally, this switch is the one that turns on the "P" on the dash.
Some cop bikes also had the thumb radio controls on the left and right side of the bars just like regular Electra Glides with radios. Which switch are you talking about?.
I will look at the switch when I get home but I know it feels just like the normal one on my eGlide so up and fown. Also has a push in option I am pretty sure.

I would think you should definitely be able to get that to work then. That is not the normal pursuit switch so I'm not sure why it is turning on the "P" on your dash.

I will do a little digging tomorrow and maybe a pic or two but I agree it has to be doable. Finding the ends of those wires will be key. Again, thanks.
