I also bought the Cycle sounds grills. So tweeters are OK where they are.
On a side note, As I stated before. The Kappas are better than stock, and for the money, well worth it. I switched because I have 40% hearing loss and needed more depth to my system. I got just that. Without the help of some great people on this forum, I would have made some poor decisions, and/or cost myself alot of money. Thanks to all of my sheep friends out there!
Looking at PBR300X2 as my buddy just bought one I like the sound he went with the 7.25 J&M rockers I was thinking of the same thing but adding the mid and tweeter grill...seems that some are not fans of J&M??? VERY open to thoughts and suggestions...Tks
My .02 is if you like what you hear, then go for it bud. Be careful (or at least phone John up and talk to him) about which model speaker you purchase as John himself made it perfectly clear in one of these threads that some of his speakers just can't handle the power output of the 300x2.

that's my concern with some of the other speakers I've seen with a lower RMS....it's hard to find a (consistent) recommendation of a speaker that's comparable....they are alittle cashy but I'm willing to pay for good sound!!

What's your budget? There's lots of great speakers (and amps) out there.
my recommendation for budget minded individuals would be the Kappa 62.11i. Great speaker at a good price point.
Regardless which way you go, you'll need adapter rings to install a larger speaker in a stock fairing location. I use the Arc-Audio adapter rings but others have had success with some of the cheaper knock-offs from eBay and such.

geez bud.. Give Bill @ Biketronics a call and pick you up a set of 7.1" HAT speakers and be done with it.
This. Also, if you can swing it, I would recommend going just a bit more and getting the BT2180 amp. This from a guy that has the PBR300x2 with the Kappa's currently. They are ok for the price, but I think the BT's will be much better. Full disclosure, I don't have them installed yet, but from all reviews, I am confident it will be much better. Easier to spend the extra $150 now and know you won't second guess it later.
I just paid $755 total for the 2180 and 7.1's. You can get this by simply going to the BT site and selecting the combo package http://www.biketronics.com/2014-bt7p...0-amp-upgrade/. Enter HDforum for a 10% discount (at least that was what it gave me) and you are good to go. This ended up being less than what I was quoted when I called them for some reason, but whatever. The package above is for the 2014-15's. Not sure what year bike you have.

Spoke with Bill at Biketronis yesterday for a hour or so we decided on the BT 7.1's and the PBR300X2 and a Kenwood mechless...that guy is a pleasure to deal with very helpful!!!!!
