Default 2015 FLHTK Package Options

I've done my best to scan this forum section and read through thousands of pages. Certainly no lack of participation.

I have a 2015 FLHTK and I would like to improve the audio. I am fine with just the four factory speaker locations but want more sound.

What are the best options for a "turn key" package that I can add to the Boom system? I'm assuming an amp and new speakers but all of the options being discussed are confusing.

Also what is the "flash" that others have mentioned the dealer is required to do? It chapped my hide that I had to pay them to activate the Aux input after I had done the wiring.

What is your budget?

Do you listen to FM?

Are you mechanically inclined? Can you remove your gas tank, front fairing, do basic wiring/soldering?

Any chance you might add even more speakers down the road?

Do you have the 6.5 or 4.3 head unit?

Lots of help in here but you will need to answer a few questions first.

2015 FLHTK
Boom Audio 6.5, speakers in fairing and passenger back rest

What is your budget?
I'd like to stay under $1,000.

Do you listen to FM?
Occasionally.

Are you mechanically inclined?
Can you remove your gas tank, front fairing, do basic wiring/soldering? I would prefer to use plug and play installation instead of slicing into the wiring. As for being mechanically inclined, yes, I do most of my own maintenance and modifications.

Any chance you might add even more speakers down the road?
No. I do not want to take away any storage space with speakers in the lids or amplifiers in the saddle bags/tour pak.

Do you have the 6.5 or 4.3 head unit?
6.5

Ok! That's a pretty good budget. You should look into www.biketronics.com then. Or give Bill a call directly and see what he can swing. You will not lose FM reception with their amps. You won't have to any hacking into the harness, but you will have to pull your tank to run the wires to the battery. Almost any other 4 channel amp you will lose FM reception. I have a couple riding buddies with Biketronics equipment and it's good stuff.

You could save some cash and go with some other brands if you are interested...won't be nearly as "plug and play" (nothing really is)
