PBR current draw when off

Default PBR current draw when off
Anyone know how much current the RF PBR300x2 draws even when its off?


Pretty sure my battery is bad as I cant get it to charge past 10.5-11 volts even with a battery charger ( not a tender). Already ordered a new battery from battery mart.


just curious how much current these draw when they are off.

An amp shouldn't draw anything when it is off - as in 0.00 volts. If it does, there is a problem.

The amp turns on when it gets a signal voltage, which is supposed to come from the radio. Could it be getting that signal somewhere else, like a constant hot?

Well, I was curious if there is a circuit in the amp that may use some power to monitor when signal is received to fully power on.

Not to my knowledge. My aftermarket radio has a remote turn on wire from the head unit to a terminal on the amp. Radio comes on, turns the amp on. The amp is off otherwise and draws no current while it's off.

This has me wondering if the 12 volt plug has constant power? I used it as my remote turn on source.

No, I think that's switched power. The lighter doesn't work unless the ignition switch is on.
