Default Head Unit question

I bought a Sony MEX4000bt for my FLHT. After some reading I see that it is a 2v pre amp output. Is this a deal breaker? Should I return it and buy something that has more?

Thanks for the help.

Decision is up to you but I and others here will say the same. I went from 2 to 5 V pre amp output and it makes a difference for sure. This only my experience and opinion.

3 things I've found make difference.

4-5v pre amp

HPF that goes down to at least 80 with slope it db settings

Sound reconstruction or DM+ for Sony.

Do you guys only use the water proof cover in a wet environment? Also, do you remove the HU's face so it's inoperable when it's parked?

My biketronics head-unit cover won't stay on when the bike is running. It vibrates and pops right out. I keep it in the bag in case I'm overnight someplace and it rains.
