I see this an old thread but.......
I am on my second pair of Polk mm651's in the tour pack pods and I like them a lot however I can't get rid of a buzz at low bass. Thinking about these kicker ksc67's and I see they are 6.75. So these will still fit in the stock pods with no modifications?
Thanks for any reply!
The mm652 are much better options. How are you powering them?
Many of the Kickers drop right in and are reliable as hell. Maybe a PM to SBates will help you as he has tested a ton of different speakers and I know he has solid first hand reviews of the Kickers and the bang for the buck they provide in that tier.
Just an update. Had some time today to screw around and found the buzz was not the speaker but the pod itself. Took the speaker out of the pod and no buzz. I had it packed tight with polyfill blocking the hole for the wires that come in and I believe helps as a exhaust port so I took a lot of that out and left the hole open. Also made a foam spacer for the speakers to mount to between them and pod and seems all good. I know these polks are cheapie but they sound pretty dqm good to me.
Thanks again for the help. If these go kaput I'll look into some kickers or alpines but for now I'm happy with them.
