I'm unaware of a quality plug and play amp. At the very least, you will need to run a fused power lead all the way to the battery, and while you're at it run a ground wire too. #10 gauge or bigger. 6.5's will fit using an adapter like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPEAKER-ADAP...8ad518&vxp=mtr

Exactly. I always tell guys that plug and play is a myth. Vendors use it as a selling point to make guys think their system is more user friendly. As John said most of the stuff that is advertised as "Plug and Play" is low quality stuff. Get the adapter rings John suggested and a set of Infinity 62.11i speakers with a Cerwin Vega B2 amp. $300 bucks should cover it. Night and day difference in sound.
so okay... is that prety easy to hook up? and would my current hogtune 5.25 inch speaker do the trick?
thanks much, I think I'll go wityh what you say and trust you!
No Sir! The hog tune speakers won't get it done. Go with the infinity 62.11i's. If you need any help on the install hit up any of the usual suspects that are here everyday. One of us will get figured out. . .lol
okay Thanks Bud.. I ordered everything you told me to.. including the speakers, adaptors etc...
talk about trusting some guy I've never met! damage was 310$... not so bad...
should be here in the next week or so... I'll let you know!!
Roger that. At the end of the day all a man has is his word my friend. That's how I see it. I trust guys I've never met everyday. Through that experience I've met some awesome guys on this forum. That said, You're going love your new system. Keep us posted on the results.
You'll be quite happy with that set up. The best part is you'll know your system sounds as good as a highly advertised "plug n play" system that is marketed as "the best" available for a Harley that would have easily cost you double what you paid just so you could be underwhelmed and pull it out a few months later to get a better system cheaper.
Now all you need to do is convince yourself to go to an aftermarket HU and you'll officially be hooked........
