I call em like I see em bro! I've heard every video posted here on the new bikes and your bike and Scott14G's sound the best to my ears. What's so impressive is both you guys took on the project knowing it would be a huge challenge with the flash issues and all. If and when I get a new bike you guys will be my inspiration.

Hey Gannicus, on one of the other threads you mentioned you wanted to try the Arc moto 6.2 component speakers. I went on the Arc website and compared the specs with the XDI 6.2. There doesn't seem to be a lot of difference. Both rated at 240w peak, moto are 90 rms and xdi are 100 rms, moto 86db sens. and xdi 87db sens. freq. response on motos are 50H-20kh, xdi response 55H-20khz.
Does the 5Hertz difference in response translate to a $280 difference in price?
I'm assuming specs are specs and sound quality is sound quality; your thoughts?

Man I just got the 6.2's installed this past weekend. The sound quality is awesome! I was a little shocked when they arrived because the magnets on the 6.2's are smaller than the 602's. and I thought OH S**T what does this mean? All my concerns were put to bed after I installed those things. The thing about the Moto speakers is a powerful amp is a must have. These things are smooth and balanced speakers that take as much power as you can throw at em! They don't distort and they are bass heavy speakers. The 6.2's more so than the 602's. The tweets are just right as well.

I'm still getting them dialed in but so far I love em. Definitely on the same level as the PRO's. The PRO's just get louder faster due to the sensitivity. But the 6.2's have more bass.

To answer your question. I'd say those XDI's are awesome as well and given the specs and No sir! Not worth that much difference in price. I'm just a glutton for punishment. . . lol

Gann in that same price range (220.00) for a set of components I remember you had the Polk comps. What's your thought on those "for the price".

Glad to hear you like them, where did you mount the tweeters?

I had Benji from legacy baggers make me some custom grills that hold the tweets nicely. I really liked the grills and threw Benji a shout out on the forum. Another guy bought the grills and said he didn't like em. But they were awesome in my opinion! My friend HAZE who reads everything turned me on to the grills from an article he read. I bought them originally to install some POLK components just to check them out because I like to tinker. Matter fact that's all I do in my spare time is tinker with audio.

At the time I had the Biketronics PRO's in my faring and the POLK components were nice but no where near the quality of the PRO's so I promptly took the POLKS back out ant put my PRO's back in. Love those PRO's! Anyway I'll take a pic tomorrow and post up what they look like in the faring.

Well, Gann, after going round and round on paper with different combos I placed an order today with Bethany at Biketronics. Will be getting a BT2180 and the BT714 speakers, along with the new line leveler. Don't know when I will actually do the install, since I'm currently in Ocala, FL and my bikes are in San Diego.
At some point I'll probably be getting some knockoff lowers and adding a pair of Titan II's down there. I'm wondering if Moto 602s can handle weather/moisture in lowers. What are your thoughts regarding Titans vs. Motos in the lowers?

You don't want to run speakers with different sensitivity levels in parallel. One set will get much louder than the other. Get the Titan II's. If you had a 4 channel amp you could get the Arc's.

Agreed. Since you are going with the 7.1's in the fairing and plan on running the BT2180 in parallel. The titan II's are the ticket. The titan II's are great sounding speakers in that location with plenty midbass.
