Rushmore Audio
Friends, Romans, countrymen; lend me your Rushmore Bike audio expertise.
Please list your setup with your opinion of difficulty - 1 being plug n play, 5 being major pain in the keester, or anything in between. Please also list details of impedance ratings for amp and/or speakers, whether or not products came with necessary wiring, grills, mounting plates, clips, etc. Lastly, please list your scale of satisfaction with your setup - 1 I hate it, 10 I'm wallowing in audio nirvana, or anything in between. Hoping to make this thread the ultimate audio go-to guide for '14 and up bikes. Thanks for your help.

I don't own a Rushmore (Yet) But I'm familiar with two members here who have the best sound systems I've heard on a Rushmore. I'd say these two guys have it all figured out. Check out this thread. Scott14G post #15 and JimTJr post #22 These are the guys you want to talk to.

I have to give credit to guys like Gannicus and haze324, they are the ones I paid attention to when I was researching what I wanted to do. Some of it was trial and error like finding a mount for the SS amp. The thread that Gannicus posted has a lot of good info, see post #23 & 24 for what I did, the only thing missing is the 8ga power cables which I got off ebay or amazon. The only other thing needed is a pack of zip ties to clean things up when you are done with wiring.
If I had that list of parts when I started the job it would have been much easier, the install is easy enough that someone with basic tools can do it, you just need to think about things and have patience. If you get stuck then post up here, guys are very knowledgeable and helpful in the audio section.

Yes i had the ss pn4 520d on there before i put the jm mount in and there are plenty of other people that mounted several other amps on it like the rf300x2, cerwin vega b2, biketronics, and arc amps
Tuleyne, On the other thread, you asked about speakers that fit. I went with Kickers CS674's and the only modification I had to do was countersink the screws. Fit perfect then. Can even use the original speaker covers. I'm only running the pbr 300x2 at the moment and no flash. It's ok. Speakers are very nice, but until I install a new HU (winter project) I won't know for sure since I don't want the magic box, nor try with the flashes.

As nick said, absolutely. Had a RF300 there before, super simple install and I think I even have a mount for one still around if you go that way.
I'm leaning toward the Cerwin-Vega B54 and 4 Hertz 165 speakers. I'd prefer the Infinity Kappas but the thickness of the mounting flange seems to indicate major modifications, which I'm trying to avoid. I thought about the Hertz in the upper fairing and the Kappas in the lowers but then I saw where the Hertz are 4 ohm and the kappas are 2 ohm.
Tuleyne, If you end up with the HCX 165's in the fairing just a heads up that you MAY need to replace your grills to allow tweeter clearance. I already have aftermarket grills on mine for when I had the Kappas there because there was no way they would fit with the stock grills so I can not say for sure if the Hertz will work with the stock grills. Maybe someone else here with the Hertz can confirm. Also, are you planning on flashing your head unit, using magic box, or doing nothing?
