Currently have a Kenwood BT558U. Good head unit and like the features but cant read the face at all in the sunlight. Suggestions on something else that can been seen in sunlight?
I don't believe there are many.
my Kenwood X998 has the option to put screen on Negative (so in my case black chars on green background as my bike light theme is Green).
you can possibly "glue" a piece of anti glare film (old ipad/iphone/android piece) on the faceplate (use tape first so you can always remove it).
with my Pioneer deck I had good results but lost the film as I did not glue it down (was sticky, but I guess not sticky enough!!!!).
I currently using a Alpine CDE-137HDBT head unit that borders blue light with streaming white light for song title, track, or band names which is great at night ,still hard to see in bright day. You get to know your functions after awhile so don't have to look down as much. Alpine HU are solid, two years going strong, no issues at all....Good luck
i have a pioneer 9600 and you can set the screen to be just the clock and date, which when done with the green color (to match the switches) is about the best i have seen in the sunlight. i also have the kury radio trim/cover piece which is slightly tinted and that helps a bit too.
