Default a little help

First off I`m getting ready to do an audio upgrade, been all over doing research.1st, Bike is 1986 FLHTC I`ve owned this bike since new, I`ve upgraded stereo a few years ago. Used RetroSound Model 1 because I did not want to cut up fairing limited edition bike General features:digital media receiver ,built-in amplifier (25 watts RMS/45 peak x 4 channels)plays MP3 and WMA music files from external sources
RF (Radio Frequency) remote control because handlebar controls no long able to be used.Radio inputs: front mini jack input, rear RCA auxiliary input, remote-mountable USB and SD-card reader, outputs: 4-channel preamp outputs (2.85-volt front, rear). Couple problems 1st only can use 4" speakers in inner fairing thinking about going with biketronics or Infinity Reference 4002cfx .Am going to add lowers probably fairing factory ,using HD cvo pods and grills. Again thinking about Biketronics 6.5 in lowers. Problem is what amp ? 4" biketronics speakers say ◾10-75 watts recommended power 4"infinity up toPower Handling (Continuous/Peak)35W/105W . I kinda like the idea of biketronics , they seem to be great vendors and not pushy( Bill is the man).So if you can give me input I sure would appreciate it.

props to you for having that bike look pristine!

I'd check out the Cerwin B4. It's a small amp that should fit. Not sure how much space you have in there?

And props for riding with your prosthetic leg. Way to go!
Nice to see it can be done. Thanks for sharing that.

As far as the prosthetic leg I rode the electra glide before I could walk again(was run over by ford expedition)Was hit on the wide glide in pic. Thats after I rebuilt it Its 1986 FXWG

Mick,

Yes the amps will have "gains" on them that you can adjust the power. That's the issue that you have BT 6.5's that can take a boat load of power (you can easily send 150w to them) and then you have small speakers that can only take about 50-75w tops. So getting to big of an amp will be overkill. The usually suspects that have moderate power, sound pretty good and have gains adjustments are Cerwin B4 and the RZ4.2000D. The RZ4 is about a 100 bucks and has a little more power, the Cerwin has better sound quality. What I like about the Cerwin is that has built in "filters" so you can filter out the bass that a 4inch speaker, even a 6.5 speaker can't produce so you can get the most volume from your speakers. Another option for your lowers would be Infinity Kappa's....at 2ohm's you'll get more power out of the amp. I'm a bit partial to BT though and while probably not as loud as the Kappas (with that amp) they have a fuller sound.

Cerwin B4
RZ4.2000D

saw your note. Thanks....and yeah keep doing that! We'll get you right brother.
