Have the Sony 310BTX with detachable face. The display blanks out or gets unreadable at times. Fiddle with the face and it comes back. Has anyone else had this issue with detachable face units? Just wondering if this is a common issue or if my deck is defective.

 

Should not be happening my man. Check and clean the face plate connection. Make sure all the contact points are making good contact. Not a common issue. If it continues I'd send it back for an exchange.

I have the same head unit and I have seen this issue as well. +1 on Gannicus solution. If you don't get a good connection on the faceplate then the display goes completely out or intermittently displays the graphics.
