Default New Soundstream PN1. 1000D broken

I recently replaced my Soundstream 520D with the new Soundstream 100D.
Installed it, ran fine, then I ran into issues of wiring, the guy who wired by system just twisted the speaker wires together, this is for an 8 speaker system, so and buddy and I were going through the wires, taking the tape off and using butts and soldiering them back together, after every two wires we would turn the system on sounded great, turned off the power and went back to soldiering the wiring, after the third and forth wires, turned the system back on, the amp quit working, took this amp out hooked up the old amp, and the system worked, we tired several different things with the wiring, nothing, now I don't know what's wrong with the Amp, did it fail after turning on the bike 4 or 5 times, or is there something magic I don't know about?
Another, question, how can I return this back to Amazon if it's bad?

Man always kill the power going to the amp while you're working on it. The fuses on the PN4.1000D are internal to the amp. Not sure how hard they are to get too.

Some amps are very sensitive and if you pos/neg speaker wires cross or touch it can send the amp into protect mode. Do any of the lights come on when you try to power the amp?

Not hard to get to at all. 4 screws. The problem is the amp has a warranty seal on it. If you break the seal to replace the fuses it voids the warranty.

Being a new MC audio your questions raze several more questions.

First of all as already mentioned were any of the lights on top of the amp on?

How is a single channel amp powering 8 speakers, or...?

If the installer just twisted the speaker wires together then I suspect the output wires under the screws going to the speakers where never tinned with solder. So connecting another Amp may have made a better contact, temporarily.

How are the + & - wires from the amp connected, both directly to the battery or? And is there a fuse at the battery?

We were trying to fix the original installation by running down each wire and soldiering them together, it was a mess, I sent my buddy a message about the lights, haven't received an answer, since I didn't receive an answer my guess is NO lights, therefore fuse screwed!
There should be a fuse from the battery, on the + side, I don't believe the - went to the battery, it was just grounded, if not, screwed again!
I believe the system is series, NOT parallel, even the woofer is in series, which makes it sound loud but not good! How about the impedance, how should that be?

There is actually a fuse window that you pop off without pulling any screws.

Sounds like your not sure whether your system is in series or parallel. What speakers are you running? I doubt very seriously that your woofers are wired in series.

Cool. I didn't think that window popped out. I learn something every day on this forum.
