Default Mutazu Lower Speaker Pod Question?

So... I'm adding lower speakers, and ordered the Mutazu pods. I am not looking to paint the pods so I went with the textured Mutazu over the CVO primed pods...
When I removed the stock lower glove boxes I noticed the lip that goes around the edge on the stock box to locate the OE painted lower shell. I also noticed the Mutazu only has a few small tabs to keep the shell from falling in, but nothing to keep the pod and the shell edge aligned.

Ok. So I go to bolt them on and the lower shell pops out past the Mutazu pod (or the Mutazu pops into the inside of the painted shell.) Either way it doesn't look good, and the upper nut will not go back on the mount because the pod is not sitting centered any more.

Anyone have this problem?... and is there a fix?

I have no problem returning these and going with CVO speaker pods. (Other than my BT6.5 speakers and CVO grills will arrive Monday (tomorrow!)....LOL)

I just don't want to jump the gun and return these when someone here might know a fix...

Thanks

I went and checked with local dealership and they had the CVO pods in stock. The parts guy opened a box and the Mutazu pod "looks" to be made identical where the mounting is concerned.
(The CVO pod is "primed" for paint. The pair I looked at today were faded white on the outside flat surfaces so they would REQUIRE paint no matter what.)

I came back home and tried again. This time placing washers between the new pod and the shell. It took a stack of 3 washers under each of the 3 mounting screws (and replacing 2 screws due to length issues) but I have them mounted and they look 75-80% ok.... for unpainted they look way better than the CVO would have looked. But fitment could be a little better.

Now for the speakers and grills to arrive and this nice warm weather to maintain here in Georgia!! ...t-shirt riding in December! I love it!!
