HardyHarHarley,
I am about to do the exact install including using the Vtwin adapters to put Titians in the rear pods. Do you have a picture of the Titans in the rear pods that you could share with us. I'm wondering how the VTwin grills look with the Titans on the pods. Great write-up and thanks for sharing with us.

It won't be until this weekend to get a picture of the rear pods with adapters. Sorry. But they look fine. Actually, they aren't even noticeable with the speakers and grill covers. It all just blends together. Let me know if you run into the same issue as I did with the speakers coming in contact with the bolts that you will see when you remove the OEM speakers. I kind of wish I had gone in with a Dremel tool with a metal cut blade and taken about 1/2 inch off the bolts. You might want to give that some consideration.

You can always pull the pod speakers out to cut that bolt. Maybe use one of these: http://www.homedepot.com/p/Stanley-1...-809/100026795

No problem, I appreciate you doing that. I have a Dremel so won't be a problem to cut those if they touch. I probably won't get started for a few weeks. Just ordered more parts from Bill.

I got the Breakout harness and two of the BT355. I actually ordered the 7.1 pros, 4180, and 6.5 Titans last year before he came out with the new BT355's. I have been waiting on someone to fix the issues with our stereos before installing. Thank goodness Bill finally Did!!

That's my exact setup I just installed. You are going to love the results. There's a 99% chance your speakers will hit the rear pod bolts. So be ready to cut if you don't want them touching.

Another issue I ran up against was the length of the machine screws BT provides for mounting the speaker/ring combo to the BT speaker mount. They provide a 6 x 32 SS machine screw that's 1/2 in long if I recall correctly. After trying to make that work, it became clear that the screw was simply too short, so I went to my closest ACE Hardware store and purchased the next size/length up..3/4 inch I believe. You will use eight (8) of them....four for each speaker.

I will be interested in hearing where you end up mounting your line levelers. Using the BT wiring harness, the leads between it and the line leveler leads are not very long. So you will be somewhat limited where you can mount them.

The reason I ask is, I used the BT wiring harness and didn't account for the fact that the headlight sets deeply into the cavity and is right in front of the radio. And again, due to the length of the wire loom to the big connectors, you will be limited on where you can put the connector bundle once the wiring harness is installed. I would suggest you try to recess the big connector bundle deep into the cavity as far as possible below and to the brake side of the radio.

Removal of the two speaker pods also removed one or more locations used to secure the wiring to the bike with those push-in wire wraps. So be sure you have plenty of tie-wraps of different sizes/lengths. I would say I used more then 25 tie-wraps that weren't there before. I like my installations tidy though.

So let me/us know what your final install looks like. And good luck.

Jim
