14, You will hear lowers better than speakers in the rear. Lowers for the driver, lids for the passenger!

i beg to differ. Based on my experience, there is a very noticeable difference in sound quality riding down the road when the rears are not hooked up. And its more noticeable than it is with the lowers not installed.

why does this seem so hard to believe? i seriously noticed a bigger difference in sound when i didnt have rears hooked up compared to just the two lowers. I dont know if its because of the amount of speakers in the rears (4 ea) compared to the 2 in the lowers, but its a LOT more noticeable without the rears than without the lowers. maybe i got something wrong since u guys are all looking confused.

Are you talking about cruising around town? on the highway? or parked?

I have more than 4 speakers in each bag so I get it. Yes around town I can hear my low end much better when cruising around from my bags than anything my lowers are gonna pump out (it's not even close when parked), but on the highway even with as much sound as I have in the bags, the other day my ground cable came loose from my bag amp and I didn't even notice there was no sound from my bags until I got off the hwy and hit a red light.

Maybe he is just running a 2 channel amp to power everything and when the rear speakers are unhooked all the power goes to the front and that is why it get louder????
I know I can defiantly tell a BIG difference when the wife gets on the back to riding solo with the SQ and volume from the rear speakers even when the stock system was on the bike and she isn't a big girl either.
It should be a lot better this year once I get everything dialed in and the temps warm up

Like Haze I have 8 speakers in the rear 6 6x9's and two 6.5's nobody gets it more than we do!! But we are the exception rather than the rule. If we are talking about normal guys out there with one set of 6x9's in the lids and the question becomes which speaker will you hear going down the highway. The answer is the lowers. Fanatics like us. Different story!!
