Default Time bomb?

I blew both factory speakers on my 02 ultra with stock audio system this season (they did good I think). The Sony deck I put in a couple of seasons ago says 4-8 ohm speakers, but I had a set of stock harley 2 ohms that I figured I'd try against most everything I've heard. They show between 4.4 and 5.2 ohms across the posts with a multimeter. Am I gonna be buying a new head unit soon?

Yeah I would think so. Unless the speakers are really 4 ohm.

Hey Bro -
Throw this amp and speakers in there and the HU impedance won't matter. Very cheap sound improvement. amp kit. $12 bucks. 6.5 adapter rings. Great sound for less than $300 bucks.

Amp: http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-PN2.350D.html

Speakers: http://www.rakuten.com/prod/infinity...FQ8vaQodF10HXw

Adapter rings: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SPEAKER-ADAP...-/121358701848

Can't beat that budget combo!

My first real stereo I built on my 12 RG was the PN1000D and 4 Infinity's, value-to-sound is pretty sweet with the Soundstream/Infinity combo.

Sorry to butt in here but wondering if between the SS and RF would it make a difference if Fm reception is important. That's a great price on the SS amp even with our lousy Canuck buck.
