As said.... "They all do that". I hate it too, some day I'm going to do something about it.
Just not sure what yet

I thought they all sounded different on vs off.
When you have bike running and you shut it off with the run/stop switch it doesn't sound richer/fuller when off?
Mine does, and you are saying yours doesn't?
Interesting...
It's the same even on a completely stock system. The EQ files for off vs on are different. Not idea why they did it that way.
There's a thread somewhere that goes into more detail, but yes, they (MOCO) purposely set the system up to sound that way.
It's all about sales. I can't tell you how many times I've walked into a dealer and there's a sales guy standing there with someone showing how great the BOOM II crap sounds on the floor with the bike turned off.
Wanna have some fun? Walk up to the sales guy and ask about the different bin files engine on vs. engine off and ask him to start it to prove it. It's a blast when the customer gets to hear the difference and the sales guy is standing there looking really pissed off. It's about as much fun when they give you the old "we can't start bikes indoors" line.
I guess I'm not understanding the problem... you're saying your system sounds better when the bike is not running??? Just a heads up. You might get some interesting responses.
I get it now, different .bin files running and not running. Not up on Rushmore audio.
I get it now, different .bin files running and not running.
Exactly. Right after I bought my new Rushmore in May 2015 I noticed the same thing once I got it home and had time to play around with all the bells and whistles.
Since the 2015 RG was still fairly new a lot of folks thought I was crazy when I tried to explain that the audio sounded different when the bike was on accessory than when the bike was started. The difference was staggering.
Just learned to live with it, but as others have said do all tuning with the bike running.
