Default '16 SGS Audio Help

Looking to add some addititional speakers to my bike. I think I'm wanting lower fairings with speakers and likely saddlebag lids with speakers. Looking for advice on what to look at/buy? Suggestions on speakers and amps as well? Any pics of your rides would help as well.

Thanks in advance!

For starters, what is your budget?

This will help out a lot. Can go from mild to wild quick.

I'm in the process of finishing my set up:

Rockford TM400X2AD in the fairing hooked up to Arc Audio Moto 602's 6.5" ( might go to the Arc Moto 600.4 bridged in the future)

Soundstream PN4.520D in the left saddlebag bridged to Arc Audio Moto 692 6x9's in the HD lids with V-Twin audio adaptors

And 2 Biketronics BT355 line levelers with the stock Ultra flash to turn on the rear channel on my 2015 Street Glide Special.

I will have around $1500 into it when alls said and done, but it can be done for less and a lot more.

$1500 to the lower side would be good and keep the CFO off my a$$. Probably would build the system over a period of a few months and that would lessen the initial upfront cost.

You'll get some really good info here. I'd probably start with your fairing and lowers. The cost of the lowers will be the limiting factor of what's left over. Looks like you can get them for asking $250-670 with Harley being more expensive:

plus the speaker box.

I am sure Gannicus, Haze, Tailwind, Bunker, and LL247 will chime in with more options. They know their stuff, and LL247 should be able to hook you up with your audio equipment, he helped me.

Thanks for the help so far. Looking around at some non-Harley vendors I'm not seeing my color in their lineup. My bike is charcoal denim, so hopefully folks have that added to their schemes.

Well, I thought I would throw some ideas out there. I'm a fan of the Arc Moto 602's so here are some options minus the cost of the lowers.

1. 2 sets of 602's. $570
BT speaker bracket to replace pods $150 ish
BT 4180.14 $620.95 with forum discount.

$1341

2. 2 sets of 602's $570
Arc 600.4 $550
BT speaker bracket $150ish
BT 355 line leveler $68
Amp kit $30
$1340

3. Soundstream PN4.1000D $150
2 sets of infinity kappa 62.11a $240
J&M amp tray $135
BT 355 $68
Amp kit $30
$623

You can mix and match some of these components, but have to watch ohm and sensitivity of the speakers.

There is a thread here where someone used the pods and removed the back of them and made supports to make their own version of the BT speaker brackets and like I did. I drilled a 3" hole in each pod and used polyfil. You can even rework the existing amp tray to make the PN4 fit without the J&M tray. So there are a few ways to save a few bucks.

Lids could be a cheaper first option over the lowers, but the charcoal denim might throw a wrench into things with either the lids and lowers. And you might need adaptors for the lowers or fairing for the kappas.

I am still learning here myself, but should this should give you a starting point. Someone else should have suggestions soon. Don't be afraid to shoot LL247 a PM for some pricing and ideas.
