Default Problems

Road my bike today. Stereo sounded fine, was playing it when I shut the bike off. Went back to turn the bike on and noticed no sound coming from rear channel of. Using a BT4180 amp with BT Line Levelers and Arc Moto 692s. Faded everything to. The rear and I can here intermittent static and popping.... I disconnected each speaker and connected one of my old 5x7 speakers and I could hear music with no popping.... Any thoughts other than the speakers are blown? Wasn't really driving them that hard.

Did you try plugging the 692's back up? May have just been a loose wire.

Plugged them back in and nothing Bro. Plugged a pair of Pioneers in that Gan sent me and the fired right off. There is no visible damage to the speakers. The don't have a smell, no corrosion, speaker come is well attached... They look perfect in fact.

Did the wire come loose from the cone? This happened to a sub I had back in the day from over exertion. Basically made it a paper weight.

Hopefully is something simple and easy to fix

Hey Matt. Nope, that's the first thing I thought to check. There is absolutely no separation, no burning smell; no visible evidence of Damage at all. Really strange.

Use a meter and measure the resistance of the speakers. For them both to go is abnormal. I have blown lots of subs and mids over the years and usually only 1 goes from a pair.

Yea, this is bizare,, if you have the replacement speakers and they work, then amp and wiring should be fine, (Obviously) so it has to have something to do with the speakers themselves. But for both to blow at one time,,, wow, especially with no warning? I'm considering moving to the 692s also,, but it won't be for a bit.
