I'm a machinist, if stock has a gauge instead of diameter I don't mess with it.....
I hear ya. We have separate dept from the machinists to metal fab. Most metal fab is punched and automated. All my work done by hand, tape measure, tri square, brake, and a shear. I made the notch with a cylindrical burr bit.

Thanks guys I take pride in my work and just try to help a fellow member out. Not something I would normally do but seen a position where the guy had no other choice and get some help

And I definitely appreciate it. I was moving my amp from my bag to the fairing to free up some bag space. Thought I was going have to go back to it since I don't have the resources to fab anything decent.
Have you test fit the fairing? Hard to tell from pics but the corners on the amp may hit the inside. You may need to move it back, down or angle it downwards in the front. Clearance is pretty tight in there.
