Installed my system last year, MEX-M70bt, bt4180, etc. and got the ASWC-1 to work. Now the only thing working is the vol control. Tried to reprogram and after pushing the reset button the light alternates between red and green, which I have read means program fail also it doesn't flash to show the brand HU. It did this when I first installed it but eventually got it to work. Went through the program guide and looks like it is seeing the switch positions but can't get it to do more than the vol control. Checked the wiring and it seems to be correct. Any suggestions? Any way to reset it to the point of it acting like it was never installed? Any suggestions????
have you looked at the sticky?
When i installed mine I went thru many program cycles.
did you check wiring and plug into Sony head unit?
it should recognize the HU without any issue.
Went through the sticky and checked the connections. It did work so don't know if something changed or came loose. Didn't see anything when I had the fairing off today. May have to spend more time and double check everything.
Thanks, another thing I will have to check. Have off on Fri so I guess I know what I will be doing. By the way, thanks for the sticky. It was really helpful, lots of good info.
follow my instructions on the programming and you should be golden
look at the ATTN/Mute option; I love that on... 1 push and I can talk to my buddies and/or son), 1 push again and tremonti is blasting again...
Well I pulled the fairing today and checked out the wiring. Didn't see anything obvious. The remote jack connector was fully seated and all looked to be hooked up the way it should be. Noticed the green light turning on and off when I turned on the bike so I pulled the harness to the unit to ohm out the wires. Everything looked good until I tried the black wire going to the unit, believe it's the ground. Wire was open so it might be a problem?? Think it was intermittent but now is open all the time. If I had a tool for the pins in the connector I could look at that. Emailed Metra about a new harness so waiting for that.
Thank you sir. I was pretty sure that the wiring was correct. It was the settings of the steering wheel control inside the head unit which needed to be set to External.
Any body has Sony MEX head unit, can read my post in this link...
