The only problem with the seal is in the beginning when new. Once it's been compressed it's not bad.
Amen bro! It's been a while since I installed my HT lids and now I'm wishing I had the tight seal I had right after I installed them. Be patient guys, that pain in the **** tight seal u speak of is your friend.
Ok got my hertz all set up in the bags and love them. The pound hard, just gotta figure out how to quite the latches now (they rattle).
How do you like Mille pro 6.5's? Thinking of swapping my bt 7.1 non pros for the Mille pro component set up.
I don't know from experience, but have heard, that coaxial speakers are better on the bikes vs. components. Having said that, I'm also running a set of st-25 horns with my hcx 690's. Lol
Slyedog has installed a set of MLKs that are component. Maybe hit him up?

You will get a better midbass and can have much better highs with a component set. There are 2 big factors. Must have the power and I mean clean undistorted power, and a good place for the tweeter. The mille pro is made in 2 versions. A 4 ohm and a 3 ohm. I have not heard them besides a few video's and they do sound good. Can't really quite compare them to my set but know they will sound way better than the coaxial equivalent. Since you have bag speakers, if your not dead set on fairing mounting and amp the hdp4 would be phenomenal with the 3 ohm set up front and those 6x9's. My
Yeah I don't wanna lose anymore space then I already have by shoving an amp somewhere other then the fairing. I'm currently running the ss pn4.1000, gann ran a set of the coax off this amp. The tweeters can go in the lower gauge holes, I already have a set of Polk tweeters in there that aren't hooked up cause I don't have the cross over from the set up anymore.

That amp will have the power just not the sound quality. That amp has a love hate following. The moto 600 is great but for this case it doesn't increase power beyond 4 ohms. Not sure 150 rms will push those components.

Man now I'm conflicted lol. I heard them in a audio store and they were hooked up to a hertz amp pushing 65 watts and sounded great ( I know not the highway lol) but figured they would scream by more then doubling the power to them

They are 125 rms iirc or in that ballpark. The 150 from the arc may or may not be enough. The downside to no acoustics on the bike is that power is volume outside of efficiency. That's why the pro audio is used frequently as they produce high volume with less power,BUT you sacrifice sound quality. My point is you need to match accordingly. Now I will throw this out there. Arc 600 to a Focal component set and your bag lid speakers is a guarantee win. Just watch the xover sizes. Not trying to steer away from the Hertz components, but here is the big unknown. Is 150watts enough? I think it will be but not going to say it confidently.
This may or may not be helpful and to note I haven't done it yet, but will in the next week or two.
I'll be running a BT 4180 and 7.1 pros in the fairing, hcx 165 in the lower fairings, and hcx 690 in the lids. My plan is to run the pros and 690s on the same channels. This allows them to be in similar power without one dragging down the other. Then, obviously the 165 would be on their own separate ch to keep me from not allowing the pros to breath due to the 165 being able to not handle as much.
