This was one of my funnest builds, so simple and so awesome. This is forum members Airtrafficdude's bike.......6 speakers - fairing, lids, and inside the bags, and an additional set of horns in the fairing pushing just 1000 watts off a sony m70bt head unit. This bike sounds fantastic in person.
The massive speakers are well balanced with nice mids and clarity for a coaxial and they do get loud(Compared to the 6.5 Kappas, I like the Massive). Now the Rockville, Sound is nice and loud with real good vocals and they don't need much power to get them loud. The bad news on the Rockville's is that they didn't fit in the fairing without having to modify the Metra speaker adapters( with a belt sander I had to sand down approximately 3/16 of an inch on the face attaching to the Fairing), But got them to fit.
So, the Rockville's combined with the horns are great for a budget PA speaker. Im not trying to win any audio competition but still want good sound with plenty of volume at highway speeds over 80mph.
I am also playing around with some Soundqubed QP-MR6.5 Pro Audio Midrange that sound real nice ,also a budget speaker that drop right in the fairing without any issues.
Out of these three... If you don't plan on adding horns the Massive will do the job. BUT... if horns are in the mix, its a tight race between the other two. Personally, I like the Soundqubed better as of now. Still testing and comaring. Hope this helped you out.
All these speakers were treated with Scotchgard Heavy Duty Water Shield. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Scotchgar...4aAqzhEALw_wcB
