I completed the install of my stereo system on my road king. Here is the system, then my question...
I went with the Soundstream st4 100db amp (I chose this amp because it is bluetooth.
I have a set of 6x9 infinity reference speakers in the lids. (yes I know at highway speeds I won't here much but I live near the daytona beach area and we don't do a lot of highway driving)
I have the whole system mounted up and all is working. The amp is bridged at 250W/channel.
The system is loud, there is no doubt about it. What I am finding, and where my question comes in is this.......As I said I am running the audio through bluetooth to the amp and I don't feel that the sounds is very full. I am not getting the lowes that the system is capable of putting out and it sounds a little tinny to me. I am using an iphone for the music.
Has anyone else experienced this with a bluetooth system? The amp has the capability of taking rca inputs but obviously then I would be using a "Y" cable plugged into the headphone jack of the phone which I was trying to avoid.
What do you have the crossovers on the amp set at? If you are high passed to high then that could be the problem. Check to see how low your speakers can play and set the crossovers to highpass there and adjust up to remove distortion. There is a equalizer setting on the iPhone however I recommend setting it to off as anything else will degrade the sound quality of the song being played. Ensure the sound check option is off as this affects the sound also. Lastly the file type you are streaming effects the sound quality overall.
