Digital Processors
I am looking into it yes. But as of tight now I don't have any more info than you do except that it's supposed to be released in a month or so. Sorry
Well I obtained a JL fix 82 today. Couldn't pass up a new one for $200.00 to test this. BUT this was based off of a personal conversation during a training meeting at one of the local a/v companies that I use. He is the head of product development for JL Audio. Simply put from him, by December, they will release a software compatable with the fix 82 & 86 that will have no less than a 6-9 band eq, time phase correction and many other consumer customizable settings. THIS ALONE sold me, well that and the cheap price.
So within the next couple of weeks I will install this and auto tune it with the bike running to eliminate any BS that Harley has programmed in the radio when it runs. Also since the front 2 channels are a better sq on these bikes (thanks to HK/HD for whatever stupid reason the come up with) I will only be using the 2 front channels going to 4 out since I've not used fade control on anything I've ever owned.
Granted this is not a new head unit, as that would be a hell of a lot better option, but for $200.00 it's worth the try. And yes, I already own 2 btll and while I like them I still want another option that has a better customization possibility no matter what a persons setup is.

Ive extensively tested the front rear signal outputs with the bike off and running. There is a definite difference in the two. Keep in mind that's with the current flash I have, I've only tested a couple of other flashes but across the board they all do the same
Let me rephrase, it's caused by the flash/software in the head unit.

What would be helpful from JL Audio is if they posted EQ results from the Analyze after running the auto tune on the HD Infotainment system. Or will the JL software update provide this along with the adjustments it's included in the update?
Ok gotcha. I double checked and I see that the Fix82 is two channel model.

So in theory, if the EQ curve changed due to an update all you'd have to do is play the test track and recalibrate the FiX.
If you then want to adjust the EQ, you'll need to buy the TwK or another EQ (I think the TxK does a little more than just EQ)
It's my understanding that you use the "calibrate" feature on the FiX unit. The FiX analyzes the track playing (JL test tone track) and adjusts the setting to output a flat signal.

keep in mind this isn't anything like the twk version which does a crazy stupid amount of adjustments. That's geared towards a car environment or someone that wants to spend the money, tweak the **** out of the bike. That seems like a waste that's why I went the fix route.
BUT when I install it I will post before and after measurements so others may make in informed decision.
That would be great!!!
I would investigate if it has more than 1 calibration setting. I know some the the oem integration units like these have more than one eq setting. Example is the fix would still have to be calibrated with bike running vs off to obtain the correct calibration, vs bike off with different input calibration. So in what way will this work in both scenarios?
