Sound good to me but I wonder if I can get a better sounding system. I'm not really looking for a bass in yo face type of sound. And I am looking to add some speaker lids and looking for a combo that would sound better than the current setup than I have now, Is there such a setup better or any combo you guys have out there?
The 2180 is a great amp. Bass in your face....that will be really tough on a bike unless you are just talking about parking lot bass. Separates can add more range but still not car audio quality at speed. I will defer to the experts for more specifics.

The BT2180 with the 7.1's is a good set up. To upgrade from there you would have to take a look at something like the Hertz MLK 165.3 speakers and since you want to add lids, The amp would have to be upgraded to a four channel amp. The Pioneer Pro's in the lids and the Hertz speakers would be a nice upgrade. From there you're looking at Pro audio. 8" inch drivers in the bags and horns.
I've been running the BT 4180 7.1 Pros and 602's in the rear pods on my limited for about 9 months. No complaints with the system, it's loud, clear, no problem hearing it at 80. But I started thinking, could I do better. So I changed out the Pros for a set of Hertz MLK 165.3. The Pros sounded good but the hertz sound great. The only complaint I have with the hertz is the crossovers are freakin huge. You may have more room under the fairing on a SG than I have on my 11 Limited but extra work getting the crossovers mounted was worth it. Just got back from a trip this weekend and at 80 on the interstate I was hearing things from my music that I never heard from the Pros, the hertz tweeters are freakin awesome. IMO the MLK 165.3 would be a great upgrade.
Gotta say thanks to Jonathan at BAB for the great price on the Hertz and taking the time to answer all my questions.

Thank for the info, where did you mount the tweeters? And where did you get a good deal on those Hertz speakers?
I mounted the tweeters in the speaker grills. I bought the Hawg Wired Punched Steel Grills, they gave me a little extra room between the tweeter and woofer. Bought the Hertz from forum sponsor Badd Azz Bikes.
Like I said before the hardest part was the mounting the crossovers. I couldn't get them to fit inside my fairing. I may catch hell from some of the guys for this, but I ended up mounting them in my lower glove boxes. I already had the liners and locking doors on the boxes, that's where I would keep my glasses and other small things when we travel and never had a problem with water from rain or washing get in there after I installed the locking doors. I think I read somewhere that Tailwind said he mounted the crossovers under the fairing speakers on his SG without the covers on them, so you may have a little more room than I do on my Ultra. Here's the manual for the speaker and crossovers page 21 gives the dimensions of the crossovers. http://www.hertzaudiovideo.com/wp-co...e_revC_web.pdf
The MLK 165s are some amazing speakers, however as stated those crossovers are no joke in size but with a little creativity you can find hidy holes and such to make it happen lol.
