Neither is user tuneable. As for the the power output both are WAY over rated and lack sound definition.

If you chose to switch from a 2 ohm speaker to a 4 ohm speaker with the JM you better be fairly teck savvy as you will have to use "their" usb Dongal to load what they think is the proper DSP for you setup.

As for hogtunes they are just loud and distorted to my ears. Lacking any kind of depth or tone quality

If you are wanting a plug and play set up I would have to suggest getting in touch with Biketronics. There systems are much better bang for you buck with lifetime warranty and MADE IN THE USA.

J&M speakers besides being outrageously overpriced are very shrill sounding and lack warmth. Their amplifiers are
Re-branded, price gouged version of quality amplifiers. The warranties are bare minimums and most importantly the company is owned by a jerk.

Hogtunes makes some great products, their customer service is excellent and many of their products carry a 20 year warranty. Their saddlebag speaker lids are excellent and they were one of the first companies to create that solution for baggers. Their products are a definite upgrade over factory systems and in most cases are plug and and play for the novice installer. Having said that many people quickly find they want to go bigger and louder and Hogtunes simply doesn't cater to that market. Many however find the upgrade in sound plenty and are happy enough with their Hogtunes setups to never go further. I have to say again what a great company they have proven to be.

It seems like you are at the beginning of your search so I would suggest that you do lots of reading in this section of the forum to familiarize yourself with what your options are and to decide where you want to end up with your sound before you start a cycle of buying too little and having to upgrade again. Research Biketronics (AMAZING customer service, proven friend to the members of this forum, made in America, also plug and play and a lifetime warranty)(can you tell they are one of my favorites), Arc Moto, Hertz, Diamond Audio, the list goes on and on but the information is here in its entirety if you will just jump in with both feet.

The search for excellence in motorcycle audio is a circus and this forum definitely has the best lion tamers and ring masters to be found anywhere. Not only do they have some of the best sounding setups but they have tried all the combinations and are willing to help. You're in the best place to find the answers. Good luck!

Biketronics sells well built and designed plug and play kits that work and sound good. They take a lot of the guesswork out of the tuning and hookup. They have really good customer service and warranties.

Some of you said you like Biketronics. I was watching there install video and is had the amps held on by adhesive strips. How secure is that. I would think it would vibrate off.
